Too bad that Linux sucks for gaming, and this is "News 4 GAMERS"

Fail attention-grabbing article is fail.

Yay for misinformation. Louder fans are a matter of ball bearings, and have absolutely nothing to do with YLOD, which is basically just a mechanical problem originated in a completely different position of the console.

No. A fan getting louder is something that happens with every piece of electronics that has fans (PCs for instance), and simply means that the ball bearings in the fan are getting older and have a bit more friction. As long as the fan spins (and this means as long as there's noise) there's no problem.
If you're worried about heating, you can always get one of those cheap additional fan units, that work wonders (and should always be used with HD consoles anyway).

In most places I've seen it for about 20 bucks. But if you look for a preowned copy at a Gamestop I doubt it'll be over 10.

This article crashed and burned when he said that exclusive do nothing to advance gaming.

Exclusives are exactly what fuel competition, and competition is what advances the quality of games the most. If Sony and Microsoft didn't have to jump over each other's shoulders continuously, we would have much worse games.

Also platform exclusive games are normally better than multiplatform, simply because they are optimized on the machine that runs them, more polished, and ...

@Raz: exactly, having worldwide servers simply costs more, for several reasons.

5267d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's not really an excuse, several developers manage to host world-wide servers for their games, so it's plenty doable, if the will to do it is there.

if china is a problem, they can simply make some chinese-only servers, leaving the rest of the world without barriers.

Lag due to location is a thing of the past. At the moment any lag one may encounter is a matter of quality of the phone lines and speed of his provider, that can be a problem whether you live across the road from the server or in another continent.

There are plenty games with worldwide servers that have no lag issues, so that's just a lame excuse

It was a bit limited, but still, I think it was one of the best of it's kind, actually, it was more unique than "best" :D
I'm actually curious to see if they'll go the same route with FFXIV or they'll change it completely. I guess we'll have to see.

@Chadness: it was definitely one of the most rewarding aspects of the game. I look forward to find the same community in Final Fantasy XIV.

personally I like them, depends on the quality of the cel shading. Tales of Vesperia is my personal favourite :D

NIS seems to be full of surprises :D

Cross Edge was actually quite fun, and this looks much better graphically, being in full 3D with cel shaded models :D

ahem, actually the news are about them opening the *western* website. They are going to release the game both in Europe and the US this June :D

Hopefully the moron that decided the cuts on Yakuza 3 is between the ones that have been laid off.

"The having to share thing being the biggest. If they are a girl gamer then they will have their OWN console and their OWN games and you will share very rarely. Because they will play on their console and you will play on yours."

This.

This list has nothing to do with reality, and it's just a lame attempt to get hits.

I always have to laugh at the totally random pictures they put on this kind of articles too. A girl screaming with her face 3 in...

Woot, a whole big wall of text to say "I don't know, I don't have an opinion"

Waste of time.

What makes me really laugh of this whole issue are the few that actually have the guts to defend Kotaku telling that Famitsu should have put a full disclosure in the review, informing about the tie-in.

A full disclosure is needed or warranted only when there's something to disclose. Here there's absolutely nothing to disclose, since the deal is out in the open and everyone and their mother knows about it (they even did a press concerence).
There's absolutely nothing hidden ...

@erathaol: funny detail is that they don't give scores, but they piggyback on other publications' scores in their "frankenreview" pieces. Hipocrisy much?

5271d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

@reintype actually they have been singing a tune on MGS: Peace Walker having in game advertisements for weeks, with several articles, like it was something unprecedented and unacceptable. Too bad that a big percentage of the games out there (both japanese and western) have tons of in game advertisement and tie-ins, so I do wonder why they cherry picked just MGS:PW.
