Upcoming XDefiant Patch Promises to Fulfill Players’ Expectations

The new patch for XDefiant is arriving on June 12 and the expectations for it are running high. Previously, Mark Rubin received a lot of good publicity for disclosing that the community is one of the pillars of the game, so the developers were trying to honor it by granting players’ wishes. Details of the upcoming patch confirm that the fans have been heard.

The Patch Will Cover Some of the Most Annoying Problems in XDefiant

The official account of XDefiant on X shared a statement regarding the patch. It read: “Heads up! We are deploying our Y1S0.3 Patch tomorrow, June 12, at 6AM PT/ 9AM ET. (yes the one with sniper flinch and jump/crouch penalties) Full patch notes will go up tomorrow at the same time”. They added: “Just so we’re clear, we mean penalties for jump and crouch SPAM. You know who you are”.

The players who are tired of constantly being killed by bunny hoppers can finally relax. Unseen_gerbil reported: “Good. Bunny hopping adds nothing to the game. It’s just an abuse of movement mechanics that shouldn’t exist. Aim, ability usage, and positioning are the only things that should matter in this type of game”.

Unfortunately, the community has some doubts. Phuzz15 said. “I think a lot of people are getting their hopes too far up here – bunny hopping is just being made less viable, not eliminated lol. Hopefully, this really cuts down on it, though”.

Another player, MythOfBlood17, added: “Also, the real skilled bunny hoppers, those that bounce all around you, left and right, and still hit every shot will just use the next best mechanic and still be really good. It’s odd though, because if I die to someone with fast reactions, or great aiming, or clever use of the map, strafing, etc, that’s fine, but if I die to a Bunny Hooper, it just ruins that experience”.

Other Issues Still Unresolved in XDefiant

Even though the players appreciate some fixes, most of them are still asking for bigger issues to be resolved. The worst issue might be hit reg, according to the community. ElvenMagicArcher said: “I was hoping so much for the net code fixes patch tomorrow”.

JerrBear_818 declared: “Some balancing is nice but it won’t matter if the net code/getting shot around corners isn’t fixed”. Apparently, those fixes, being bigger and harder to implement, should arrive in next week’s patch, the details of which are still unknown.

As for now, we hope that the announced changes will at least offer some hope for the future of the game. XDefiant players might have to adjust their soaring expectations for the next patch accordingly. We commend the developers’ transparency and willingness to communicate with the fans. Hopefully, the upcoming patches will be worth the wait.
