Every FPS game needs its iconic close-range weapons, and if you are looking for the best Shotgun loadouts in XDefiant, we can help. A big part of the enjoyment of XDefiant is in unlocking and customizing your favorite guns with various attachments. The game has all sorts of weapons from SMGs, Assault and Sniper Rifles to LMGs. However, if you feel most at home in close-range encounters there is no better option than using a shotgun.
Best Shotgun Loadouts in XDefiant
Two factors are most important when creating the best loadout for shotguns in XDefiant and they are speed and damage. Getting into close range, where shotguns are at their best, is as important as having the one-hit-kill potential. With this in mind, we have listed the best Shotgun loadouts in XDefiant below.
M870
Barrel: Heavy
Muzzle: Barrel Extender
Front Rail: Pistol Grip
Rear Grip: Quick Draw
Stock: Padded
Although a default shotgun in XDefiant, the M870 might just be the best shotgun in the game currently. To improve on its good starting stats, adding a Heavy Barrel and a Barrel Extender Muzzle provides M870 with additional damage, making this a true one-hit-kill weapon at close range. Moreover, taking the Pistol Grip Front Rail and Quick Draw Rear Grip will almost completely negate penalties from the Barrel Extender, while also improving speed. Lastly, a Padded Stock will bring additional control and aim stability that will make this gun one of the best close-range options in the game.
AA-12
Barrel: Choke
Muzzle: Barrel Extender
Front Rail: Pistol Grip
Rear Grip: Quick Draw
Stock: Lightweight
Like other shotguns, the AA-12 is great at close range, but its efficiency drops drastically outside of this. However, this can be improved by taking the Choke Barrel and Barrel Extender Muzzle which provide additional range and some damage. Additionally taking the Pistol Grip Front Rail, Quick Draw Rear Grip and Lightweight Stock will provide AA-12 with more speed, accuracy, and sprint-to-shot time making this weapon a true king of close-range combat.
Double Barrel
Barrel: Choke
Rear Grip: Quick Draw
Stock: Lightweight
Because a Double Barrel shotgun has only three attachment slots, it is important to use them wisely. Attachments that ensure more damage, speed, and accuracy take the front stage here. Taking the Choke Barrel increases damage across all ranges, while Quick Draw Rear Grip and Lightweight Stock will provide enough speed and handling to make this weapon into a real demon up close.
