There are many factors to be considered for one of the factions to be the best in XDefiant. The game has combined the concept of factions and abilities with gameplay reminiscent of Call of Duty games. Along with the various weapons that can be customized, XDefiant offers players the choice of five different in-game factions. Although all of these factions have unique abilities that offer different gameplay approaches, one is always better than the others.
XDefiant Best Factions Ranked
All the factions that are currently in XDefiant have their strengths and weaknesses. Some are good at supporting, and others are good at delivering damage. After many hours spent in the game, we have composed a list of the best factions that are currently in XDefiant.
5. DedSec
In the last place, we have DedSec, but this is not to say that they are a bad faction. Simply put, others are just better all-rounders while DedSec shines only in certain situations. This makes the hackers from Watch Dogs 2 feel underpowered compared to everyone else. Their passive, Fabricator, will provide players with an extra device to be used, provided they stay alive long enough to use them.
As far as abilities go, using Hijack allows players to steal enemy-deployed abilities within a small radius. Being that the list of deployable abilities is rather short in XDefiant at this time, Hijack is not that useful. However, it can be used to counter the Phantoms’ Mag Barriers. On the other hand, Spiderbot is a much more reliable ability. Once deployed, it will hunt down the nearest enemy and stun-lock them, creating an easy target.
Despite all this, DedSec’s Ultra Ability Lockdown is great and can change the outcome of a match in an instant. Once deployed, Lockdown will shut down and prevent the use of Ultras and activated abilities for a short time. This can have great consequences on a match, especially if used to cancel multiple enemy-deployed Ultra Abilities.
4. Cleaners
Cleaners are the most aggressive faction in XDefiant, and they are the top contender for the most damage done in the game. Their passive gives them an extra fire-damage boost, although at the cost of weapon range, making them a real menace to deal with, especially at close range. To drive home the point of being close-range specialists, Cleaners have at their disposal a Firebomb ability. Once deployed, the Firebomb will obliterate everyone in an area around the user.
Moreover, if players are not fans of exposing themselves to danger, the Incinerator Drone can be used to deal massive fire damage instead. Lastly, Cleaners Ultra Ability gives them a Flamethrower that instantly kills enemies on contact. Their entire ability kit is oriented towards dealing damage, and to get the most out of it, you have to engage in close-range fights.
3. Libertad
XDefiant’s resident healers are a force to be reckoned with both in solo and team engagements. They play well around others and are a great boost to any team. Libertad’s passive ability grants themselves and allies who are close a faster health regeneration that starts sooner than usual. Additionally, El Remedio and BioVida Boost abilities also provide additional healing capabilities that will keep players and their team in the fights longer.
Lastly, Libertad’s Ultra Ability, Medico Supremo, also provides a healing effect in an area once deployed. However, along with additional healing, Medico Supremo also grants all allies in the radius a bonus, bringing everyone affected to 200 health. Although Libertad are not the best damage dealers in the game, they will keep a team alive and operational.
2. Phantoms
Our runner-ups are currently the best defensive faction in XDefiant, the Phantoms. Their passive ability grants them a flat 20 health more, which is a lot in a fast-paced game like this. Along with this, for added protection, Phantoms can choose between a Blitz Shield and a Mag Barrier. Although Blitz Shield provides almost full frontal protection for the user and is one of the requirements to unlock other agents of the faction, we recommend using Mag Barrier exclusively.
Deploying Mag Barries provides players and their allies with a one-way protection shield that blocks incoming fire and grenades. This barrier can be destroyed, but it provides enough cover for your team to deal with enemies before that happens. As all this was not enough, Phantoms can deploy an Aegis as an Ultra Ability, which provides a user with a domed shield that cannot be destroyed. Aegis moves with its user, providing a great deal of protection, and a point-blank scattergun can be used to deal with any enemies brave enough to enter its radius.
1. Echelon
In our first place is the Echelon, a faction from Tom Clancy’s Ghosts Recon series. Although every faction is unique in XDefiant and all abilities can have a great impact on the game, nothing compares to what Echelon brings to the table. Their passive ability makes them invisible on a mini-map and is a great tool for flanking or stealing objectives. Moreover, the Digital Ghillie Suit makes Echelon players almost invisible, which helps with outflanking maneuvers even more.
However, their other active ability is what makes Echelon the top faction in XDefiant. Once used, the Intel Suit generates a periodic radar ping, which reveals all enemies nearby. This ping passes through walls and obstacles and will give users a clear picture of their surroundings.
Additionally, Echelon’s Ultra, Sonar Goggles, provide a player with a powerful 5.7 Pistol that can bring enemies down in one or two shots. Moreover, while Sonar Goggles are active, players will see all the enemies revealed on the map. All these abilities make the Echelon the best faction currently in the game.
