Steam Deck Users Praise the Latest SteamOS

Many players reported that this update helped with game crashes, as well as smoothed the gameplay. One player, iReaddit-KRTORR noted: “Am I crazy or 3.6.19 has made OLED gaming performance… stable? Maybe it’s a placebo and please chime in if it is but before this update on the OLED 30fps game play felt HORRIBLE. And I also got constant stutters in certain games even if I was able to lock to 60fps.  I opened Elden Ring and was at 35-40fps on high settings and motion didn’t feel sloggy”.

Another player, moparianv8 agreed. They stated: “It’s definitely more performant now than previously. Meaning the game can be stable at 30fps. To me, the best improvement is the fact that it no longer crashes and RAM isn’t getting too high for nothing during gameplay which led to those crashes”.

It’s always amazing to hear that the players are actually satisfied with their experience following a big update. CoastOne2716 shared their experience with Hogwarts Legacy. They said: “I just tried 30 fps on Hogwarts Legacy. And, the motion feels noticeably smoother than in the past. Not sure if it’s a placebo or if Valve improved it but I’m happy it feels better”.
