“Forget Meta, Play What You Like” Veteran Gamer Gives His Thoughts on The First Descendant After 700 Hours of Playing
Gaming varies from something that you do on weekends to a full-blown lifestyle. Some use gaming to decompress and have a bit of fun, while others dedicate the majority of their free time to playing video games, and even turn it into a job. Of course, everyone’s situation is different, younger players usually have more time for gaming than their adult counterparts, due to jobs, family obligations, etc. But, what happens when you have a decades-long love for gaming and enough time for it?
Retired Senior Gives His Take on TFD After Hundreds of Hours
One veteran gamer, named Sokusha on Reddit, has spent more than 700 hours playing The First Descendant. He then started a thread posting their thoughts on the game after so much game time. He opens with “I’m a retired senior with plenty of time to play around, I do livestreams on Kick and just love to play video games.”
“After 700+ hours I can say for sure that the game isn’t bad, the grind is much less painful than other games in the same category,” He continues stating that the game is less and less like Warframe, and more of its own thing. Furthermore, the game’s “meta” is constantly shifting to keep things fresh. Finally, he finishes by saying that the TFD community “changed to a more focused and open mind attitude regards the so-called meta and builds in general”, and sees a bright future for Nexon’s looter-shooter.

The Community is Full of Questions
The first question that comes to everyone’s mind is: “700 hours, really?” When asked how much time per day is spent on TFD, he responds with “Let’s say an average of 12 hours a day”, with some extra for “doing useless stuff”
Next, one Redditor, named Gl0wStickzz, also a veteran gamer, with 600 hours in the game, expressed his concern about playing Public Void Intercept Battles. The OP answered: “…most of the public match issues is everyone wants to dps the boss…just pay attention to what’s is going on, not everyone has to do millions of damage to do it right, don’t give up and enjoy the game, it’s the most important thing.”
Finally, TheOGJollus asked what should players focus on if they don’t have the best Descendants or Weapons, and are not able to spend a considerable amount of time in the game. The answer is: “Use your available time to do the core things, I know getting the Ultimate Bunny or Valby sounds exciting but go for the main core stuff (gold, kuiper and lots of amorphous materials and other main materials) get a descendant you are comfortable with ( forget meta, play what you like) and stick with it until you have tons of stuff, and don’t burn out yourself, play the most enjoyable way for you. “
It all boils down to “play what you like take your time” which is something we can all agree with. Be sure to look into the thread for more questions from the players. You can check out the OP’s official streaming page on Kick, named Boomer_Time (warning: it’s in Portuguese), and don’t forget to click ‘Follow’ if you like what this veteran gamer is doing.
