Every game has that one mechanic that the players just despise. Whatever you do, whichever approach you pick, it always annoys you. Well, The First Descendant is no exception to this as the players are going crazy over one Ult Reactor mechanic.

Descendants Agree One Aspect of the Ult Reactor is Tiresome

One player, sunaurus, was so annoyed by the Ult Reactor that they had to share their exasperation with the community. They stated: “Am I the only one who is bothered by how Ultimate Reactors work? Having to switch to a specific weapon every time you cast skills gets tedious very quickly”.

This player added: “There’s no skill aspect involved, it literally just means you need two key binds to cast skills instead of one, and there’s always a minor delay for actually switching weapons. I mean sure, you can skip the switch, or even just use a Purple Reactor, but then you’re losing out on a massive chunk of your damage, so that feels bad as well”.

Well, using Purple Reactors turned out to be the way that most people were dealing with this problem. RickSanchezC94 shared: “I mostly use the Purple ones since u don’t have to switch weapons. And, also, because I haven’t gotten a lot of the ult weapons yet been grinding the Descendants and an ult Gley atm. I have a godly Tamer anyway with almost 600k DPS”.

Unfortunately, this solution doesn’t work for everyone. Areyouok75 explained: “This certainly poses a problem for people who switch weapons. It is no longer a problem for people who have learned to main one weapon”.

The First Descendant Players Share How They Face This Mechanic

Some of The First Descendant players were really helpful with sharing their approaches to this Ult Reactor mechanic. Thunder_Bastard noted: “Use the Ult Reactor with your matching gun as your main. Have a secondary heavy sniper/launcher. You lose the benefit of swapping around main guns but gain 20%. You don’t need the 160% when using the heavy”.

UnoriginalJ0k3r shared: “I carry two fully maxed and fully modded guns: Tamer and whatever the Gold Reactor calls for. Maining one weapon in a game where weapons have a “bullet type advantage” means losing out on some DPS. The skill power alone makes it worth it to swap for skills and swap back to your main”.

When you feel frustrated by any aspect of The First Descendant, always remember to check in with your community. This game is still quite new, so sharing tips and ideas on how to overcome something is crucial. Cooperation is a wonderful way to enjoy the game, especially after all of the AFK drama. So, while you are waiting for the August update and Luna, why don’t you try some of the suggested tips? You never know what’ll work until you try it out.
