The First Descendant Players Name One Mission Type As the Absolute Worst
We’ve all been there, you come home after a very long day, just wanting to unwind and play your favorite game, and then, as you are turning it on, it dawns on you. The last time you were playing you rage-quit on that annoying part where you were failing over and over again. Well, whether they play as Ajax or Bunny, The First Descendant players know that feeling exactly because one mission type turns even the best days into the worst.
One Mission Type Annoys a Lot of Players
Well, if you play The First Descendant, you probably already know which part we are talking about. Those moving platforms, that you can’t bypass by using a Grappling Hook, but they’re the only way forward. We first encountered them in Ironworks, Sterile Lands. Something about estimating how far we should jump, and then failing miserably, really tires us. Apparently, a lot of other players agree.
GusMix complained: “Seriously the worst parts of the game. Super Mario hopping. I strongly dislike these parts. That’s not for me and imo shouldn’t be in a shooter game. Give me some puzzles or riddles but get away with this c**p”. SwordOfSparda3 added: “Look, if they wanted to be some sort of optional “fun” side thing. Okay sure. Not a main mission”.
Kraujotaka agreed: “Exactly, the worst kind of mission blocking the progress. And if you have low FPS these are impossible to deal with as the timer also makes it stressful and quite often I fail with just 1 or 2 objects to completion”. Cemenotar suggested: “I think they could be fine if the timer was much longer, or didn’t exist. The way it is tuned up, when you are alone you need to go pretty much perfectly whole route to succeed”.

Not All of The First Descendant Players Care About the Moving Platforms
Of course, some of The First Descendant players don’t think this mission type deserves the worst title, it’s all about personal preferences. EnergyVanquish explained: “I wouldn’t mind these missions If the mantling actually worked well when you grapple the platforms. 8/10 times I fail to mantle and plummet back down”.
Krieg99 confirmed: “They wouldn’t be so bad if the gameplay was better. It’s really frustrating when I grapple to a platform and my character doesn’t grab it or land on it”. Another player, yvonnalynn, added: “If the grapple was consistent I wouldn’t want to grind my teeth to my gums but it is NOT. I love this game so much and yet I truly despise these parts”.
WeirderComa shared which part made them want to quit. They said: “Not as bad as the Shield-sucking missions”. Dozens of players agreed. Ilela added: “Shield sucking is ok. Drilling is a problem because I have to stay nearly stationary as Bunny. I’m not in the mood to go switch Descendant just for 1 mission”.
Everyone has an Achilles’ heel, for some, including us, it’s definitely those moving platforms. We are secretly hoping that those would become some avoidable side-quest in the future. How about you? Which part of the game would you want to be able to breeze through?
