If you were playing The First Descendant on July 3, you surely experienced the tragic crash of the game. Don’t worry, you weren’t the only one. Players worldwide reported experiencing several issues, constant crashes, and the inability to reconnect to The First Descendant server.
What Happened With The First Descendant Server?
The developers reacted immediately and issued an announcement on the official X profile. It read: “We have noticed that game connections are temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this error. We are promptly working to identify the cause and resolve it. Once it’s resolved, we will make a prompt notice”.
In a follow-up post, the devs identified what caused the crash. They noted: “Notice of Game Connection Issues. We have found that the Connection issue is mainly due to MS Network error and we are waiting for MS to recover. We will make notice once it’s recovered”.
Well, it didn’t take long before another announcement declared that the servers were back up. Unfortunately, the fix didn’t do the trick, and the game crashed yet again. This time the servers underwent maintenance to solve the instability issues. Finally, the game was up and running again, this time with no major issues.
The developers announced: “The server maintenance has been completed, and gameplay is now available. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the extended maintenance and have prepared compensation”.
The Crash Resulted in a Lovely Compensation
As with the FPS drop issues previously, the developers offered a token of appreciation to the player base. The compensation consists of three days of Gold Gain Boost +30%, Kyper Shard Gain Boost +30%, Descendant EXP Gain Boost +30%, and Weapon Mastery EXP Gain Boost +30%.
Several players confirmed that the latest boosters stacked with the boosters received previously. That means that the players received a total of six days of boosters. You better use that up while you can. Also, some players were confused, that is 6 days in real-time, not in-game. Boosters will be active immediately after you claim them from the mailbox.
While some players reported that they’ve been issue-free since the maintenance, some weren’t that lucky. RudeHoney8 noted: “Back up, but still so unstable. “Disconnected” for me three times already, and kicked me back to the game launch screen”. They added: “Just got disconnected at the final boss stage of an infiltration. Such c**p. I’ve uninstalled the game. It’s not worth it”.
Well, we’re sorry The First Descendant is experiencing such severe issues with the server. The game itself is very well-thought-out and the details are amazing. We’re sure the developers will do their best to give the player base the best possible experience. Until then, try to be patient, after all the game is brand new and some issues are unavoidable.
