The First Descendant is about to be released, and many players are wondering if the game can be played solo. The latest looter-shooter from Nexon is designed as an online co-op experience, and that is especially obvious during battles with giant Colossuses. However, co-op play is not for everyone, and playing alone can have its benefits. So let’s see if players can enjoy The First Descendant solo, without interference from others.

Can You Play Solo in The First Descendant?

Yes, players can play solo in The First Descendant. All the content in the game is created with single-player and co-op in mind, although you might need some help to unlock everything. Meaning that if a player wishes, they can play on their own. However, some areas and boss fights might be challenging, and can feel too hard for only one player to take on. Having a team option is a good thing in situations like this, but nothing is stopping players from playing the game alone.

How to Play The First Descendant Solo?

The First Descendant is designed to be a co-op online shooter, and all the locations will have other players present. In these situations, players can avoid others and go around the map alone, or they can change Field Options. This can be done on Public quests and will allow players to go into the map alone.
To play Solo, open the Map tab that is used for fast travel and select the region you wish to play in. Before selecting the mission, change the Field Options in the top-right corner from Public to Private. With this setting changed, you can now travel to any location and it will load just for you. However, remember to check this setting before loading into missions because the Public option is a default in the game. Moreover, The First Descendant will always restart to Public option once the game is closed.
