It’s been almost a week since the initial release of The First Descendant and so far the players have been praising the game. The design of the characters astounds the players. Aside from Ajax, Lepic, and Viessa, how could one pick between all the unlockable characters? It turns out The First Descendant players don’t have any trouble choosing as one beloved character is reportedly overpowered.
An Overpowered Character is a Go-To for Many Descendants
Well, you might have guessed it by the sheer number of these characters all around you – it’s Bunny. She simply enchanted the player base and they enjoy all of the benefits that come with her. AuryxTheDutchman noted: “Bunny is stupidly strong lol. I have permanent AoE [Area of Effect] uptime. Any time there are multiple groups of enemies I just turn on the jets and clear everything in like two circles, it’s fantastic”.
DidThis2Downvote added: ” I put off playing her because her voice lines when she activates her abilities really annoy me, but I saw how good she is through playing with others. Now that I’ve started playing her more I really like how she runs. I still like Ajax more but she does a lot of things my Beefy Boy can’t”.
One player, rebeccachambersfan, noticed: “She’s OP compared to a lot of characters and they give her away for free. There’s no reason not to use her for most missions”. Oneomeus agreed: “It’s a grind-fest farming game, and she’s fast and clears faster. Kind of a no-brainer to use her when blasting missions or doing open-world stuff”.
One Redditor, Ashuroth86, explained: “Bunny if used correctly is one of the strongest characters. If you know what you’re doing with your mods and mp Regen it makes keeping her abilities up so much easier so you’re not bringing enemies back to your teammates. Did the defense mission there in Kingston with 2 other bunnies and an Ajax and even without comms everyone knew their place”.
Some The First Descendant Players Don’t Appreciate Bunny
Obviously, in a situation like this, some players will ask for a nerf of the overpowered character and The First Descendant is no exception. SPEEDFREAKJJ shared their opinion: “It’s either play as Bunny or stand there watching Bunny kill everything as it spawns. And if there are 2 of them I’m gonna just afk [away from keyboard] and grab a snack. Tomorrow I’m going back to playing solo… can’t take hearing that sound of that AoE attack anymore….it never stops”.
Another player, ReasonForExtinction, has some beef with Bunny players. They said: “Stop using Bunny unless you’re either solo/on coms. Or you have common sense. Bunny is the worst character because she is the first one you get through the story and most players are NOT considering how to actually use their Descendants. Bunny will kill your team in wave modes because she can’t stop running or she is useless”.
The vast majority of the player base has declared Bunny a fan favorite so far. As for us, we’d say that everyone should pick the character they enjoy playing the most. If that’s Bunny, good for you. The game is still in its first week and we are sure that over time, there will be many changes, buffs, and nerfs. We’re glad we can all enjoy the game right from the very start. The devs will do their best in trying to honor the players’ wishes, and we can’t wait to see what they will come up with.
