How to earn Sovereigns in Skull and Bones
Reaching the maximum level of Infamy and getting the rank of Kingpin is a prerequisite for earning Sovereigns. To raise Infamy and climb through the ranks in Skull and Bones you will have to complete activities. Heists and Contracts are a good way to increase your Infamy as you travel the high seas. Becoming a Kingpin will open up a contract called “A Nose For Business” which you will need to finish to open Weekly and Seasonal Leaderboards.
Advancing through ranks on Weekly and Seasonal Leaderboards is the only way of earning Sovereigns. To climb the ranks on the Leaderboards you will have to collect Pieces of Eight. For example, to reach the first award of 350 Sovereigns your crew will have to get 10,000 Pieces of Eight.
How to get Pieces of Eight

Combine all of these methods to increase your production and climb the Leaderboards faster.
