Are you looking to find out if you can play Skull and Bones on Nintendo Switch? Then stick with us to find out. The latest pirate-themed game from Ubisoft takes its inspiration from highly praised and fan favourite Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Because the game focuses on open sea battles, this is great news for everyone who enjoyed naval engagements in that game.

In the past, Ubisoft has delivered some great ports of its hit games to Nintendo Switch. Games like Assassin’s Creed Ezio trilogy, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and most recently Princ of Persia The Lost Crown, have all been brought to Nintendo’s handheld device. With this in mind, it’s only natural to assume that Skull and Bones will have the same treatment. Let’s find out if this is the case, and can you play Skull and Bones on Nintendo Switch.

Skull and Bones – Standard Edition, Xbox Series X
  • Engage in thrilling naval battles and equip a multitude of powerful weapons as you risk it all for the biggest loot.
  • Sail the lawless seas solo, or team up with two friends or other players to partake in shareable contracts and rewards.
  • Face cutthroat pirate hunters, deadly sea monsters, unpredictable weather, dangerous rogue waves, supernatural threats, and more as you explore a vast open world.
  • Craft and sail up to 10 different ships at launch, each with unique perks to match your own personal playstyle.
  • Grow your infamy and unlock resources and opportunities to get riskier contracts and upgrade your equipment.

Will Skull and Bones be released on Nintendo Switch?

No, Skull and Bones will not be released on Nintendo Switch. It seems that at this time Ubisoft is not planning on bringing their latest pirate sandbox game to Nintendo’s latest console. Since Skull and Bones release target platforms are all the latest-gen consoles, one of the reasons that Nintendo’s popular handheld device is left out might be its ageing hardware.

With that said, recent ports of games like Hogwarts Legacy and The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt proved that the console can still stand tall on the gaming market. Nevertheless, if the rumours are true, we might be getting Nintendo Switch 2 sooner rather than later. This means that in the future Ubisoft might bring the latest pirate game to the newer version of the console.
