As we near the release of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you now have a chance to add your very own Mew to your team. Until September 18, you can obtain the Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon with a Mystery Gift code, no matter your progress in the game. What’s more, Mew will come equipped with a unique Tera Type, three fixed moves, and one mystery move. Here’s how to add the Generation 1 Pokémon to your team before you start Part 1 of the DLC.
How to Receive Mystery Gift Mew in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To obtain Mew as a Mystery Gift in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, start by opening your in-game X menu and navigating to the Poké Portal. From the options on the left side of your screen, select Mystery Gift.
You’ll be given a few methods to obtain your gift. Select Get With Code/Password, then enter the password: GETY0URMEW. Note that the letter O is substituted with the number 0 in the word Your. Finally, look over and confirm your password to receive your Mew. The Pokémon will be sent directly to one of your PC boxes.

What is Mew’s moveset?
The Mythical Pokémon Mew will come with four moves in this Mystery Gift distribution. This includes the moves Swift, Light Screen, Life Dew, and one unique move. For instance, my Mew came with the move Dark Pulse.
What is Mew’s Tera Type?
Similarly, Mew will be distributed with a randomized Tera Type in this event. This means different players will each receive a Mew with a different Tera Type. Mine came equipped with a Dark Tera Type, for example.
What level is Mew?
Despite having unique moves and a randomized Tera Type, your Mystery Gift Mew will be Level 5 when you receive it.
When does the Mew Distribution Event end?
Mew will be available until September 18 at 7:59 a.m. PDT. Be sure to add this elusive Mythical Pokémon to your team before the password expires.
