Wondering how to find and evolve Porygon in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? We’ve got you covered. Stick around for all the details, from Porygon’s habitat to evolution methods.
The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has brought a long list of classic monsters back to the mainline series, lending players many more options when it comes to building their team. Porygon is just one Pokémon that’s made a comeback with the second half of the expansion. The Gen I Normal-type and its two evolutions, Porygon2 and Porygon-Z, are especially beloved by competitive trainers thanks to their signature abilities and vast move pool. Whether you’re looking to buff up your team or add entries to your Pokédex, here’s where you can find Porygon and how to evolve it in The Indigo Disk.
Where to Find Porygon in The Indigo Disk DLC
Porygon is primarily found in the Polar Biome of the Terarium in the Indigo Disk DLC. Here, it can be found roving about floating ice caps and snowy slopes. You can also find this rare Pokémon populating caves within the rugged Canyon Biome, just on the other side of the icy cold region. However, it’s far less common in this area, so I would suggest starting your search in the former biome.
That aside, Porygon isn’t exceptionally difficult to catch. It boasts an average catch rate, so you’ll have pretty good luck securing this Pokémon in most ball types. I went with a Great Ball to match its color scheme, but with some luck, a Quick Ball can easily be used to catch Porygon on your opening turn.
- Only one code for a Hisuian Zoroark can be used in either the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
- The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. (This occurs after about 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary.) An internet connection and a Nintendo Account is required to redeem the item in game. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Each item can only be redeemed once.
How to Evolve Porygon in The Indigo Disk DLC
While catching Porygon is relatively easy in the Indigo Disk DLC, evolving it can pose a challenge. This is because you must trade it while it’s holding the Upgrade item in order to trigger its transformation into Porygon2. What’s more, you’ll have to repeat the process to complete its second evolution into Porygon-Z, this time holding the Dubious Disc.
Those with a Nintendo Switch Online membership might find this process easier with community trade codes, which are often used by players looking to exchange version-exclusive Pokémon or evolve species with trade evolutions. However, this process is off the table for those without a paid subscription, limiting their options to local trades only. For this, you’ll need to trade with a friend in the same room.
Where to Get an Upgrade in the Indigo Disk DLC
You can purchase the Upgrade item at the Blueberry Academy School Store. This will set you back 250 BP. If you don’t have enough points, you can get to work earning more by completing BBQs, or Blueberry Quests. You can check which missions are available by pressing Right on your D-Pad. Just remember, the tougher the challenge, the more points you’ll be rewarded.
Where to Get a Dubious Disc in the Indigo Disk DLC
Similarly, you can buy yourself a Dubious Disc at the Blueberry Academy School Store. This item also costs 250 BP, so you’ll want to make sure you take on a wide variety of BBQs between evolving your Porygon into Porygon2 and Porygon-Z. Of course, this task is made easier if you’ve already saved a solid amount of points beforehand.
