The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and violet brings a slew of brand-new Pokémon to the table, including several Legendries. From Terapagos to the Paradox Form of Entei known as Gouging Fire, you’ll want to do what you can to catch these rare new monsters. Depending on the version you’re playing, however, your options may be limited. What’s more, there are certain steps you’ll need to take before you can encounter the powerful Legendary Pokémon that call Paldea home. Here’s how and where to find Gouging Fire in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Indigo Disk.

How to Find Gouging Fire in The Indigo Disk DLC

Gouging Fire is a new Paradox Pokémon introduced in the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. As such, it can be found in Area Zero back in Paldea. That being said, you can only find this Legendary monster in Scarlet Version. This means Violet players will need to trade one of their own Pokémon in order to add it to their Pokédex.

If you’re playing Scarlet, there’s one major condition you’ll need to meet before you can actually encounter Gouging Fire. Specifically, you’ll need to add at least 200 Pokémon to your Blueberry Academy Pokédex. If you can manage, Perrin will help you take the next step.

That’s right — your new photographer pal from Kitakami knows a thing or two about the Paldean Legendaries. You can find Perrin at Rest Area 1 in the Savanna Biome. When you speak with her, Gouging Fire will spawn back in Area Zero.

Having completed these tasks, head back to Paldea and fly over to the Zero Gate on your map. Rather than using the teleporter when you get there, head straight off the edge on the back of Koraidon. From there, you’ll land on a small, grassy patch. Jump over the fence and activate Koraidon’s newfound Fly ability, aiming for the waterfall off in the distance, as pictured above.

In the area, you’ll be able to spot a satellite-like structure. This is where you’ll encounter Gouging Fire. Just make sure you go into battle prepared with plenty of Poké Balls and healing items to help your Pokémon emerge victorious.
