How To Start The Indigo Disk DLC – Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

As the players wrap up their adventures in The Teal Mask, they’ll naturally want to jump into the next DLC installment in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk. While the DLC’s original release date might have shifted from its original Winter 2023 date, we can take this as an opportunity to complete the prerequisites for playing it. So, let’s find out how you can get geared up for the upcoming Indigo Disk DLC.

How Do I Start Indigo Disk DLC in Scarlet and Violet

To start The Indigo Disk DLC, you first have to purchase the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet, depending on what version you are playing. Then, you have to complete the main storyline and The Teal Mask DLC to access the story of The Indigo Disk.

If you’ve already bought the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion for The Teal Mask, you already own The Indigo Mask DLC, and all you have to do is sit tight and wait for the DLC to be officially released.

Once you finally have access to the DLC, you can start off your adventure by bidding goodbye to the familiar lands of Paldea. Director Clavell is transferring you as an exchange student to Naranja Academy’s recently established sister school, Blueberry Academy. You’ll do so by speaking to the Blueberry Academy’s Director Cyrano.

Situated in the NYC-inspired Unova region, the Blueberry Academy features a Terrarium. It is a gigantic facility sustaining four different biomes for Pokémon. Also, the visuals are going to be epic since a part of the Blueberry Academy is loaded under the sea.

With all that in mind, we would advise you to brace yourself as the new DLC will be featuring lots of Pokémon battles. To ensure that you are ready to start your adventure in the lands of Unova, we’ve got some things for you that will be worth doing while we all wait for the DLC to release.

What to Do Before Starting The Indigo Disk DLC

While traversing through the lands of Paldea in the main story and Kitakami in The Teal Mask, there are a couple of things you must do before you make your way. However, there are a few things that you must do before making your way to Blueberry Academy:

Complete the Ogre Oustin’ minigame in The Teal Mask on Hard Difficulty.

Why? Because you get a Shiny Munchlax as a reward for completing the game. So, missing out on this opportunity should simply be out of the question.

Stock up on Poke Balls

The new DLC features not only the return of all the starter Pokémon, like Charizard and Bulbasaur. It also features new faces like the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos. So, the last thing you would want would be to run out of Poke Balls during a rare encounter.

Level up your team

You will be taking on the formidable BB League Elite Four in the Blueberry Academy, and trust us, these fights will not be child’s play. You can level up your Pokémon by feeding them Rare or EXP Candies and taking part in Tera Raids.
