Following the reveal of a new form for the Legendary Pokémon, Ogerpon, many Pokemon fans are now wondering: Does Ogerpon evolve in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Stick around for all the details about this powerful Pokémon’s mysterious new form.

Ogerpon is one of several new Legendary Pokémon set to arrive in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. The Pokémon will appear in Part 1: The Teal Mask, which will take us on a school trip to the land of Kitakami. In this region, a powerful trio known as the Loyal Three is commemorated during the Festival of Masks. While Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti are revered by the region’s people, Ogerpon seems to play a much more mysterious role in the festival’s events, sporting a new form in a recent trailer. Though, this may have more to do with the Terastal phenomenon than evolution.

Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. Does Ogerpon Evolve in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC?

It’s not yet clear whether Ogerpon will have the ability to evolve in the upcoming DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. However, a recent trailer from the Pokémon Company has revealed that the new Legendary Pokémon can enter a Terastallized state, taking on a new look distinct from its normal form.

This differs greatly from the normal Tera Pokémon we’ve encountered in the base games. Typically, Pokémon don’t take on a different appearance when they Terastallize. However, Ogerpon’s mask seems to enlarge and glow with even greater power in this state. The Pokémon also gains an intimidating set of horns and its green leaves sprout weaving vines.

Who is Ogerpon?

Ogerpon is a new Legendary Pokémon that plays a role in the events of the Teal Mask expansion for Scarlet and Violet. Many players in the Pokémon community believe this new monster may be based on the oni of Japanese folklore. It’s said the Loyal Three drove this Pokémon away in an effort to protect the people of Mossui Town in Kitakami. In light of this story, we’ll even have a chance to participate in a minigame called Ogre Oustin’ in the The Teal Mask DLC.

That said, little else is known about Ogerpon and its new Terastallized form. Much remains under wraps, including the Legendary Pokémon’s type, stats, and ability. While its new look can be attributed to the Terastal phenomenon, it’s possible this new Pokémon might also have a connection with the new and equally mysterious nineteenth Tera Type. However, we will need to wait until the Teal Mask DLC launches on September 13 to learn more about this newly introduced ‘mon.

Apart from Ogerpon, other new Pokémon are also expected to take on Tera forms. This includes Terapagos, another Legendary Pokémon appearing in the DLC. Arriving in Part 2: The Indigo Disk, Terapagos is a turtle-like monster with a charming demeanor. However, its type, stats, and ability also remain a mystery.
