Black Myth Wukong is truly one of the best games of 2024. The exciting gameplay, beautiful visuals, and superb storytelling all blended into one perfect game. And it all paid off since Black Myth Wukong managed to win the Ultimate Game Of The Year Award at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024. Additionally, the devs teased that some surprises are on the way later this year.
Golden Joystick Awards 2024 – Black Myth Wukong Wins Ultimate Game Of The Year Award
The Golden Joystick Awards, aka People’s Gaming Awards, is one of the oldest and most prestigious video game award ceremonies, running for more than 40 years. This year, the competition was fierce with the likes of Helldivers 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Astro Bot, and more games competing for various awards. In a way, Helldivers 2 was the most successful game, managing to snag four different awards.
As for Black Myth Wukong, Game Science’s AAA game, it “only” took two awards: the Best Visual Design and the most prestigious award of them all: Ultimate Game of the Year.
The Devs Tease Some More Surprises “Later This Year”
When the Ultimate Game Of The Year was announced, Feng Ji from Game Science, held a (prerecorded) wholesome speech, thanking everyone who believed in them and all the players who purchased, played, and enjoyed their game, especially those who voted for them.
During the speech, he said: “If you haven’t played Black Myth: Wukong yet, you are in luck. Now you have one more reason to give it a try! Of course, you might have already completed our game. That’s perfectly fine too. Keep following us, and there might just be some surprises waiting for you later this year.”
Whispers about a Black Myth Wukong DLC have been around for a while now, so this may just be a confirmation that more content is on the way. Allegedly, sometime before the end of the year. That leaves us with a bit more than a month, so we expect some announcements in the following weeks.
