Black Myth Wukong was released in August 2024 and was well-received by both critics and players. It is based on the classic Chinese story – The Journey to the West, and the protagonist is based on Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, from the novel. The initial release was digital-only, to the dismay of collectors who were hoping for a physical copy. But now, two months after the release, a physical edition of Black Myth Wukong for PlayStation 5 is right around the corner.

On October 20, Black Myth Wukong’s official X profile posted that a physical edition is on the way for PlayStation 5.

The fans, as you’d expect, are delighted to hear this news. “Fantastic news. Been waiting for this. Hopefully in time for Pro.” said KrisPSOnline, “That’s the news I’ve been waiting for Thank you very much. I’ll buy the physical edition day one!” added Sola4883, and “Hell yeah! Just let everyone know the release date & I’ll sure as hell preorder it” said spiderlantern on X. We still do not know what the physical copy will consist of (if anything), besides the game itself. On the topic of a release date, it seems that physical edition of Black Myth Wukong is closer than expected.
Release Date Reveal
According to billbil_kun, a famous leaker, the release date reveal for physical edition of Black Myth Wukong for PlayStation 5 is scheduled to be announced today, October 21, in the US, and the game will cost $64.99. The reveal in Europe will be “very soon”, at the price of €69,99. The leaker continues by saying that the “box” will contain a physical copy (a disk) and not just a download code.
Up For Pre-Order
This just in, Black Myth Wukong physical edition is available for pre-order right now in various parts of the world, like Canada or Germany. Chances are that the game is also available in your area (depending on the retailers).
