Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to launch in full this November. The release will follow an early access period for eligible players who pre-ordered the reboot, lending them a chance to get their hands on new weapons and perks early on. However, franchise fans will have additional opportunities to play even sooner. The publisher Activision will be hosting two open beta weekends for the game in October. Here’s everything we know about start and end dates, platforms, and more.

How to Play the MW3 Open Beta
Those who pre-order any edition of Modern Warfare 3 are eligible to participate in the two-part event this October. While the first event is exclusive to PlayStation players, the second is open to gamers across all compatible platforms, including Xbox X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Activision has confirmed that you won’t need a redemption code to take part in the open beta if you pre-ordered a digital copy of the game through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Battle.net, or Steam. Those who pre-ordered through any of these avenues are automatically registered to participate.
However, players who pre-ordered MW3 through other participating retailers will receive a redemption code to partake in the event. Activision has stated that this code can be found on the receipt of purchase, whether physical or digital.
How to Redeem MW3 Open Beta Access Code
If you pre-ordered MW3 through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Battle.net, or Steam, then you won’t need a code to participate in the open beta this October.
However, those who made their purchase through other participating retailers will receive a 13-character code. Your code can be redeemed through the Call of Duty website. When your code is successfully redeemed, you will then receive an early access beta token via email prior to the start date.

The MW3 open beta will occur over the course of two weekends in October. Those who pre-ordered the game will be able to participate in either event. However, start and end dates will vary depending on your platform of choice.
