Will MW2 Skins Transfer to MW3?

You will be able to transfer skins from MW2 and Warzone to MWIII. This applies to all operator and weapon skins that you’ve earned or purchased in either game, as detailed in a blog post from publisher Activision.

That said, there is a long list of other transferrable content that is sure to please dedicated players. This will save you loads of time and money when MW3 launches in November. Not to mention, those who participate in the game’s early access period will have an even greater head start.

All Transferrable Content From MW2 to MW3

Thanks to the Carry Forward feature, you’ll have access to many of the cosmetic equipment and items from MWII Warzone in MW3, given you’ve already earned or purchased them. This includes items and cosmetics obtained from bundles, and specials, such as the exclusive Oni Operator for PlayStation. Here’s a closer look at all the MWII content Carry Forward allows you can transfer from previous installments to the upcoming title.

  • Unlocked Operators
  • Operator Skins
  • Weapons
  • Weapon Skins
  • Weapon Blueprints
  • Weapon Attachments
  • Weapon Charms
  • Weapon Stickers
  • Weapon Camos
  • Vehicle Skins
  • Stickers
  • Emblems
  • Loading Screens
  • Calling Cards

As for the caveats, a small amount of content will not be transferred. This includes Wartracks, as MW3 will probably have its own, as well as MWII Base Operators, ie Operator with default skin. Naturally, if the object existed in MW2 but will not be in MWIII, you will not transfer anything related to it. For example, if Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t have the Tactical Amphibious Vehicle, or a specific piece of Tactical or Lethal Equipment in any of its game modes, anything related to them will not be transferred. But, to counter that, there is an impressive amount of MWIII-only Equipment and MWIII-specific Weapons planned for the game, so removing of those items is not surprising.

MWIII players will have access to the Carry Forward content from the get-go. For more on the current iteration of Call of Duty, check out these additional guides from our team: Will CoD Points Transfer From MW2 to MW3? – Explained, How to Play MW3 Open Beta , and MW3 Early Access Details
