Gamers everywhere, rejoice; because all maps from MW2 have been confirmed to appear in Modern Warfare 3, including the Zombie mode. Modern Warfare 3 promises to be a reboot of the original game, bringing modern improvements to the well-known CoD formula. Coming along with it is Warzone 2, a separate sequel to the franchise’s Battle Royale model. But the main piece of news that sparked players’ interest is the inclusion of fan-favourite maps from Modern Warfare 2 and the return of the cherished Zombie mode. Let’s dive into the news to find out everything about returning MW2 maps and the Zombie mode in Modern Warfare 3.
All MW2 Maps confirmed for Modern Warfare 3
This news is coming to us from CharlieIntel on Twitter, which is a great source for all things CoD. According to the report, there’s an ARG that lets you text a specific number with map names. The text will then confirm or deny the map’s appearance in Modern Warfare 3.
But that’s not the end of it. According to this ARG, all 16 maps from Modern Warfare 2 (the famed 2011 version) will be returning in Modern Warfare 3. If we look back at the map list from MW2, that would mean that all multiplayer maps from that game will be there. To summarize, those maps are:
- Afghan
- Derail
- Estate
- Favela
- Highrise
- Invasion
- Karachi
- Quarry
- Rundown
- Rust
- Scrapyard
- Skidrow
- Sub Base
- Terminal
- Underpass
- Wasteland
We’re certain that this isn’t the full list of all maps that will appear in MW3. The imagination spins at the possibilities of other beloved maps reappearing in a similar manner.
MW3 will have Zombie mode
Along with the maps coming back, CharlieIntel has reported via Insider-Gaming that the Zombie mode will return in the form of Outbreak 2.0. The fan-favourite game mode will be available from day one for Modern Warfare 3 players.
The new game mode’s name is a reference to a similar mode in Black Ops Cold War. This game was a CoD franchise spinoff released in 2020. Outbreak functioned just like the original Zombie mode but with more bells and whistles. We’ll have to wait and see as more news comes out about what Outbreak 2.0 will entail.
