How Do You Solve the Poidsear Coast Wizard’s Chess Puzzle?
Walking into the cave, players will see a large set of chess pieces on a chess board. The goal is to checkmate the black king. By casting Revelio on objects in the room player can find an extra piece that they can use to complete the puzzle. The pieces players can find and their answers are listed below:
- Pawn: One space diagonally from the king.
- Rook: In front or to the sides of the king.
- Bishop: Diagonally from the king.
- Knight: Two spaces up and one to the side, or vice versa. Knights move in an L shape.
How Do You Solve the Marunweem Lake Wizard’s Chess Puzzle?
The puzzle starts in the same way. Locate the extra piece by casting Revelio around the room, and place it on the map based on which piece it is from the list below:
- Pawn: One space diagonally from the king.
- Rook: In front or to the sides of the king.
- Bishop: Diagonally from the king.
- Knight: Two spaces up and one to the side, or vice versa. Knights move in an L shape.
With these guides, players should have no problem solving these puzzles. While players may be a bit underwhelmed by the scarves they get as rewards, this is still another step players need to take for full game completion.
Where Are the Wizard’s Chess Puzzles Located in Hogwarts Legacy?
There are two wizard’s chess puzzles, which can be found in the following locations:
- Poidsear Coast – Travel to the Northeast edge of the area. Look for two windmills that flank a closed cave. Cast Depulso on the windmills. When they are both moving at full speed the cave will open.
- Marunweem Lake – Just East of the center of the area, located next to a hamlet and poacher camp. The cave entrance is located directly behind the poacher camp. Players will need level 3 Alohomora to access a puzzle cube that opens the cave door.
