How To Choose Your House and Pass the Sorting Hat Quiz

When the Sorting Hat ceremony appears in Hogwarts Legacy, you will ultimately be the one to decide which House you want to go into. Once the choice presents itself, you can simply select your preferred House. 

If you want to immerse yourself in the experience fully, answering the Sorting Hat’s questions with traits that align with a particular House may prompt it to suggest that House for you. However, you can always choose a different House if you prefer. In the end, the decision is up to you.

What Is The Sorting Hat Quiz In Hogwarts Legacy

The Sorting Hat will ask you two questions before suggesting you a House. The first question is:

“You come here with preferences and preconceptions — certain expectations.” 

At this point, it will offer you a choice between two options:

“I can’t wait to start classes.”

“I can’t wait to explore.”

It’s important to note that your answer to this question will not affect your House selection in any way, so you are free to choose whichever option you prefer.

Then the second question is as follows:

“Hmm. I wonder. Hmm. I detect something in you. A certain sense of — hmm — what is it?”

This question is the only question that will affect which House you’re sorted into. Fans of the series might already know which option will lead to which House, but we’ve placed the resulting House in parentheses just in case:

• Daring. (Gryffindor)
• Curiosity. (Ravenclaw)
• Loyalty. (Hufflepuff)
• Ambition. (Slytherin)

If you’re not happy with the House you’ve been suggested by the Sorting Hat, you’ll be given the option to choose whichever House you’d like to join.

However, if you have linked your Wizarding World account with the game, you will not have the option to choose your Hogwarts House during the game’s opening sequence. This is because you have already completed the sorting quiz on the Wizarding World website. In this case, you will only be asked the first question by the Sorting Hat (about whether you’re keen on exploring Hogwarts or taking classes), which does not affect your House selection.

How To Use The Wizarding World Account To Set Your Hogwarts House 

Apart from the in-game question-answer session with the Sorting Hat, there’s also another fun way you can choose your House in Hogwarts Legacy by taking a quiz on the Wizarding World website. Go to the website and take the quiz there, and after you’re done, the website will show you a result telling which House is the most preferred one for you. 

Apart from your House, you’ll also be able to choose your wand and Patronus that can be imported into the game. Nevertheless, once you’re done with the quiz, don’t forget to link your account with Hogwarts Legacy since that’ll allow all your Wizarding World data to be merged with your Hogwarts Legacy account.

All House Differences in Hogwarts Legacy

Overall there are no major differences in Hogwarts Legacy’s four houses. There are minor differences in some quests, you will gain access to that house’s common room, and you will have that house’s uniform. Ultimately which house you pick will not affect the story.
