Helldivers 2 Players Are Fawning Over Their Adorable Astro Bot Counterparts

If you haven’t heard of Astro Bot, you might be missing out. This game was launched exclusively for PS 5 for the PlayStation’s 30th anniversary back in September 2024. This 3D platformer and the titular character Astro Bot won over millions of hearts. So, no wonder the Helldivers 2 community was head over heels when they saw their little counterparts in Astro Bot.

Helldivers Make an Appearance in Astro Bot

The official Helldivers 2 page shared a short clip of Astro Bot interacting with little Helldivers. In it, you can see Astro Bot “attacking” a Helldiver keeping the flag safe. The Helldiver adorably shoos the Astro Bot away. The devs noted: “We secured surveillance visuals of a Helldiver bravely defending the flag against deadly bots. Fearless dedication in the line of duty”.

One Astro Bot and Helldivers 2 fan, STerrier666, shared another short video of Astro Bot seeing Helldivers in the game. The adorable squad stands in formation like they are playing the Spread Democracy mission, their flag secured behind them.

Players Are Delighted With the Little Crossover

Well, of course, the Helldivers 2 community had a lot to say about this little crossover. First of all, more than 15k of them upvoted the extremely cute official video. Aaron Kik (Author) joked: “Don’t mess with them, they are known to throw 500kgs at Danger Close”. Not to mention the Orbital Napalm Barrage.

Of course, some players came up with a practical use for the little Helldivers. One of them, Just__Bob_, noted: “These are the PR mascots used to teach Super Earth school children about Helldiving and Democracy”. This player added: “How else will our young ones learn to be free of thought and report their family members who require further education on democratic norms?”.

However, the majority of Helldivers just felt warmth and pride upon seeing their tiny counterparts. One player, tomtheomnom, stated: “Seeing the little guy salute the flag of Super Earth made me smile”. Another player, Duspende, raved: “The efficiency with which that mfer wiped out those bugs? Welcome to the team, Helldiver! The only thing better than a dead bot is a democratic bot”.
