The age-old request is back again. As you probably know, Helldivers 2 lacks one crucial category that could add a whole new side to the game, vehicles, of course. Now, having completed the Major Order well ahead of time, Helldivers have enough time to revisit some of their biggest requests.
Team Vehicles Are a Helldivers’ Dream
Ever since the game was launched in February, players have asked for an easier, and faster way to navigate the bigger maps. Sometimes, you just don’t feel like walking. Sure the players received two mechs, first the Exo-45 Patriot, then the Exo-49 Emancipator. However, these exosuits didn’t really deliver what the players were asking for. Also, they offer a solo experience.
Historically, any time the players asked the devs about getting the vehicles, the devs had to disappoint them. Several months ago, the developers revealed that putting the vehicles in-game would more than likely break it. Although, after the amazing 60-day patch, many players hope this changed.
So, the players decided to give their request another go. One player, Based-Prime, noted: “Please AH, give us some team vehicles. HD2 is in need of some vehicles that we can use with multiple people. It would make traversal more fun and add to the teamwork experience. Something like Halo’s warthog(with an extra seat) would be perfect”.
Players Offer Their Takes on Vehicles
Obviously, Helldivers 2 players chimed in to support the idea of vehicles, and offer their own proposals. One player, otis-from-barnyard, suggested: “Motorcycle hear me out you use your own gun for shooting and you can have a friend in the back. Imagine a pack of Helldivers riding on motorcycles“.
Other players had a slightly different vision. One of them, Iminyourhousebroim, stated: “Imma need a Toyota with a weapon mounted on the back to kill the bots”. Another player, Ok_Contract_3661, added: “Instead of a Hylux, it’s a Hellux. And, it has a variety of weapons from the 110 rocket pod from the Eagle to a quad autocannon or just one big cannon”.
Chemical-Yesterday74 suggested: “A squad car like a warthog that can fit the whole team with a heavy weapon on the back. Small Mongoose-like ATVs that can seat two people, with the driver being able to use their secondary, and the rider being able to use any of their weapons”.
These are some lovely ideas, and we’d love to see them come to fruition. In the meantime, if you like to travel in a pair, you can always use the jetpack/mech combo with your fellow Helldiver.
