Sometimes we all get jealous of what could have been, or maybe of what’s to come. A recently re-surfaced video showed off quite a cool Stratagem, that players didn’t even know they wanted up until they saw it. Have you ever even dreamed of a SEAF Troop joining you on a mission in Helldivers 2?
Helldivers 2 Players Might Get the SEAF Troop Stratagem Someday
The video in question was posted on YouTube by qy p, around 7 months ago. The OP noted: “This was clipped from an old nuke testing video. So, I cannot do more tests on them. A SEAF squad consisting of 4 riflemen and an MG gunner will automatically attack enemies nearby. Helldivers cannot command them. The enemies will consider them as a higher threat”.
The video shows the player calling in this Stratagem, and then 5 SEAF troopers being dropped off. The troopers then kind of mindlessly wander off, only to face some bugs lurking around. As the OP stated, the bugs went for the troopers first.
SEAF Troopers Would Be of Great Help
Now, we’ve been playing Helldivers 2 since the release, so our jaws hit the ground when we saw this clip. Can you imagine all the possibilities? For example, would it be possible for all the players to activate this Stratagem at the same time and create, well, an army? We have so many questions.
Of course, Helldivers were very quick to come up with their dream scenarios. Unsurprisingly, the majority of players suggested using these unfortunate troopers as bait for the enemies. One player, nerochromatic, noted: “It would be funny if SEAF troops were classed more as decoys than class support”. Another player, jacobhiggins819, added: “I hope this Stratagem is good because I love the idea of calling down the boiz to help out. Even if they are good as just bait to line up 500kgs“.
Furthermore, several Helldivers 2 players pointed out how useful the SEAF Troop could be during solo runs. One Helldiver, chezblob3628, stated: “I can definitely see myself using them to make an escape leaving them behind solo mode”. Another one, Battle-Panda, added: “Open Friendship bunkers when you play solo would be nice too”.
At the time of writing this article, we still don’t know if Arrowhead scrapped this idea. Maybe they are waiting for the right moment story-wise, or it’s just technically impossible at the moment, like vehicles. Whatever the hold-up is, we hope they work it out soon. For Liberty and Super Earth.
