The CCO Teases AT Mines Upgrade in Helldivers 2

It’s an exciting time for all Helldivers 2 fans, as they wait for the long-expected update to drop on September 17. In the meantime, the developers decided to engage with the players and share more details of the upcoming patch daily. Following the announcement of a Flamethrower buff, the players have started showing support to the hardworking devs. Now, the Helldivers 2 CCO has spilled the beans on a long-requested upgrade of AT Mines.

The Helldivers 2 CCO Addressed the Issues With the AT Mines

Johan Pilestedt, the CCO of Helldivers 2, is known to occasionally do an impromptu Q&A on the official Discord channel. On September 10, he surprised the players and answered some of their burning questions.

Since the devs announced they would revert the Flamethrower to its previous state (and buff it even more), the players wanted to know if any other weapons or Stratagems would get the same treatment. So, many players jumped in and inquired about the Anti-Tank Mines that the community managed to avoid for a while.

Unfortunately, once the players finally received the Mines, the community was quite displeased with their performance. According to some players, not only are the AT Mines “useless” against the heavies, but they are also triggered by literally anything.

Pilestedt addressed the AT Mines in a short but promising reply. He stated: “Wait for the rest of the patch notes… We didn’t get around to them only triggering from heavy enemies, but yeah… They one-shot chargers now”.

Helldivers Share Their Expectations for the Upgrade

As you may have expected, this statement made by the CCO raised the hype in the Helldivers 2 community, and the players started sharing their expectations for the upgrade of the AT Mines. Some players were disappointed that the triggering problem wouldn’t be solved in the upcoming patch, but the buff was welcome.

Liqhthouse noted: “Finally! Should actually be good to hold an objective now… Gatling Turrets to keep the light/medium trash away and AT Mines to kill the Chargers”. However, many players pointed out one possible problem emerging from this buff.

One player, iCore102, explained: “This scares me.. because when a charger dies mid-run, they go flying.. so the mine kills it, great. But, now there’s a Charger PROJECTILE flying towards me”. Honestly, that would be extremely funny, and we’d even dare to say that a Charger projectile flying towards a player should be what this game is about.

With the recent dip in the player count, the community needs a little pick-me-up. We look forward to seeing what else the Arrowhead team has in store for the players. While you wait for more details, why not join your fellow divers in the current Major Order? They could really use some help with the bots. For Super Earth and Liberty.
