Two new game modes are coming to LEGO Fortnite. Read this article to see what is Fortnite LEGO Cozy Mode, and what is Expert Mode.

LEGO Fortnite proved to be a success when it was released. Players truly enjoyed the cozy and laid-back nature of this crafting survival mode. Especially with all the LEGO minifigs wandering about. Over time, the initial hype died down a little bit, as expected. But that didn’t stop players from enjoying, building, and exploring in this LEGO crafting game. And now, with updates on the horizon, two game modes are being added. So, let’s see what is Cozy Mode and Expert Mode for Fortnite LEGO.

Cozy Mode is an even more laid-back version of LEGO Fortnite. It is a game mode that focuses on a chill experience, with little to no repercussions when failing. Moreover, you will have a new character, Slumber, “who’ll guide you through your journey step-by-step”.

The Cozy Mode is based on settings changes, a mix of Survival and Sandbox. Following is the list of all the default settings for Cozy Mode, which you can change to your liking.

  • Enemies – On
  • Enemy Difficulty– Easy
  • Storm-Wild Enemies – Off
  • Hunger – Off
  • Temperature – Off
  • Stamina – Off
  • Player Elimination – Respawn
  • Drop Inventory Upon Elimination – Off
  • Friendly Creatures – On
  • Friendly Damage – Off
  • Villagers – On
  • Power System – Off
  • Village Animals Removed On Elimination – Off

As you can see, all the settings are geared toward providing a laid-back experience, for those who do not want to bother with combat and other stressful survival mechanics. Cozy Mode is especially good for the younger Fortnite players among us.

The polar opposite of Cozy Mode, Expert Mode is made for those diehard Fortnite LEGO players who are looking for a challenge. Some creatures in Expert Mode are infected with “storm” giving them a significant boost to attack, health, and speed (on the other hand, Storm enemies drop Storm Cores, a priceless new material). Even regular enemies receive a slight buff. The specific creatures affected by the “storm” are:

  • Storm-Wild Blaster
  • Storm-Wild Bone Wolf
  • Storm-Wild Brute
  • Storm-Wild Frost Brute
  • Storm-Wild Frost Roller
  • Storm-Wild Frost Scorpion
  • Storm-Wild Frost Wolf
  • Storm-Wild Hermit Crab
  • Storm-Wild Sand Brute
  • Storm-Wild Sand Roller
  • Storm-Wild Sand Scorpion
  • Storm-Wild Sand Spider
  • Storm-Wild Sand Wolf
  • Storm-Wild Scorpion
  • Storm-Wild Skeleton
  • Storm-Wild Scoundrels
  • Storm-Wild Spider
  • Storm-Wild Stone Roller
  • Storm-Wild Wild Wolf

One of the main features of Expert Mode is perma-death, ie, if you happen to lose all your health points, the game is over for you (unless you have a Totem of Returning, a new item crafted with Storm Cores). The default settings for Expert Mode are:

  • Enemies – On
  • Enemy Difficulty– Hard
  • Storm-Wild Enemies – On
  • Hunger – On
  • Temperature – On
  • Stamina – On
  • Player Elimination – Permanent
  • Drop Inventory Upon Elimination – On
  • Friendly Creatures – On
  • Friendly Damage – Off
  • Villagers – On
  • Power System – On
  • Village Animals Removed On Elimination – On

Note that, besides Friendly Damage, nothing else can be changed in Expert Mode.

But, on a positive note, three trophies are added, to commemorate your exploits in Expert Mode. They each require you to defeat a powerful monster in three separate biomes:

  • Dry Valley Trophy – Unlock by defeating a Storm-Wild Sand Brute, then interacting with a Level 10 Dry Valley Village.
  • Frostlands Trophy – Unlock by defeating a Storm-Wild Frost Brute, then interacting with a Level 10 Frostlands Village.

So, if you are more of a cozy gamer or a hardcore one, there is a game mode for you.
