That said, your equipment can only take so much use before it wears down and eventually breaks. High-quality items sport greater durability, allowing them to last much longer than low-grade tools and weapons. However, even the best equipment expires with time.
Because of this, you’ll want to repair what you can. While the crafting-survival game mode doesn’t offer up a built-in feature to get the job done, there’s a current glitch that does allow you to restore your equipment. With that, here’s how to repair tools and weapons in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Repair Tools and Weapons in LEGO Fortnite
There is no fixed method to repair weapons and tools in LEGO Fortnite. However, players have discovered a bug that can be used to restore the durability of equipment. While it’s possible that EPIC Games may take measures to remove this bug later on, it remains a reliable means to get the most out of your tools for the time being.
To do this, you’ll need to keep a solid supply of materials on hand to craft storage items. Small Chests are a great option to repair equipment, as you’ll just need 6 Planks to build them. Bear in mind that Planks are also refined resources and must be crafted at the Lumber Mill.

How to Use the Tool Repair Glitch in LEGO Fortnite
The tool repair glitch starts with a simple storage build in LEGO Fortnite. While any storage item will work with this method, we’ll use the Small Chest as an example since it’s relatively easy to craft. To repair tools and weapons with the glitch:
- Open the Builds menu and craft a storage item. The Small Chest requires just 6 Planks to build from the Furniture section.
- Once you have a storage item, place your deteriorated tools and weapons inside.
- Break the chest while the equipment is inside.
- Your tools and weapons will be fully restored.
You can use this method to get any piece of equipment up to snuff, but be warned: Enchanted tools will lose their enchantment in the process. Because of this, I recommend limiting repairs to standard equipment only.
