How to Romance Wilhelmina in Dragon’s Dogma 2

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, it can be tough to follow through on the few romance questlines on offer in the game, as some quests are totally missable. With this in mind, it can be just as hard to romance Wilhelmina as it is to woo Ulrika. Fortunately, you can kickstart the process upon meeting Wilhelmina during the An Unsettling Encounter quest for Brant, provided you’ve completed a handful of prerequisites first.

Prerequisites

Before you can access Wilhelmina’s questline in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll need to follow through on several quests from Captain Brant. This includes:

  • Disa’s Plot
  • The Caged Magistrate
  • The Stolen Throne
  • The Masquerade Ball, though not a quest in itself, does present an opportunity to interact with Wilhelmina and increase your affinity.
  • Monster Culling
  • The Nameless Village
  • Every Rose Has Its Thorn

Note: Just as it’s essential not to move forward with the Feast of Deception quest in order to take the next step with Ulrika in DD2, you must also be careful not to complete the quest if you hope to progress your relationship with Wilhelmina. If you take this quest on too soon, Wilhelmina won’t want to leave Bordelrie. In turn, she will no longer be romanceable.

Wilhelmina’s Romance Questline

To successfully follow Wilhelmina’s romance questline in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll need to stop short of completing Feast of Deception for Brant. Instead of moving forward with this quest, meet with Wilhelmina at the Rose Chateau Bordelrie. When you speak with her here, she’ll tell you how she differs from her regular clientele. At this point, you can sleep to move forward and speak with her again, beginning the essential quest Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

Here’s the catch: One you accept, you’ll need to complete this quest within three in-game days. If you don’t, the quest will expire, as will your relationship. That said, it’s best to move forward with tasks and events in one fell swoop.

Getting Started

This begins with a custscene during which Allard berates Wilhelmina. After that, she’ll tell you that she wants to expose Allard for his crimes and kill him. By selecting the “Offer your assistance” dialogue directive, you’ll start the quest. From there, visit Sven’s quarters in Vernworth Castle.

You’ll be directed to Patrick in the Noble Quarter. Be sure to visit him at night, and he’ll make an offer to distract Allard while you break into his home. Accept his offer, then head over to Allard’s home, and search for a flowery painting to find the Murder Report.

Getting the Bribery Investigation Findings

Go to the Stardrop Inn at night to speak with Brant. Mention the Myrmecoleon (the Rose Chateau’s alias), and he’ll suggest where you can find what you need. Head toward the Rift Stone nearby and keep walking to the west. Near a house, you’ll pick up the Bribery Investigation Findings. Along with the Murder Report, you’ll have everything you need to prove that Allard is guilty.

Exposing Allard

In order to successfully expose Allard and complete Wilhelmina’s romance questline in DD2, you’ll need to present the evidence to Captain Brant in a specific order. If this is done incorrectly, Allard won’t be proven guilty, resulting in failure of the quest. When you talk with Brant, choose your dialogue in this order:

  1. Hand over the Bribery Investigation Findings.
  2. “Search for more evidence.”
  3. Hand over the Murder Report.
  4. “I’ll have any aid you give.”

If the conversation goes as planned, Brant will offer to help you escape after Allard is murdered. While the Captain can’t participate, he’ll turn a blind eye to the guilty man’s fate. Return to the Rose Chateau Bordelrie to finish the quest.

Assassinating Allard

The final step to romance Wilhelmina is pretty grim. Give her the Murder Report, then select the “Continue offering your aid” dialogue directive. After that, both you and Wilhelmina will wind up outside Allard’s bedroom. There, she’ll tell you to pin him down. This is where you’ll need to break into the room and use the instructed controls to grab Allard. This will trigger a cutscene during which Wilhelmina murders him.

After the fact, you’ll need to make your escape through the window before the guards can catch you. Luckily, Brant’s previous offer comes in handy here. Having made your way to safety, you can then speak with Wilhelmina again the following evening.

She’ll thank you for your help, triggering a romantic cutscene and closing out the Every Rose Has Its Thorn quest. While this isn’t the end of her romantic questline, you can easily follow through with the rest having completed her essential quest.
