Pawn heals Arisen in Dragon's Dogma 2

Healer pawns are particularly sought-after companions in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Let’s go over how to hire skilled companions and how to teach your own pawn the specialization you’re looking for.

On your Dragon’s Dogma 2 playthrough, pawns can help you out by performing various tasks and skills. You’ll start off the game by creating your own companion and deciding their inclination. While this affects their overall personality and base behaviors, you can deepen a pawn’s build later on by teaching them a specialization. That said, some skills are certainly more useful than others, the most coveted being healing capabilities. So, how do you get healer pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2? Luckily, there are a couple of routes to take. Here are the details.

How to Get a Healer Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Throughout Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll gain access to unique tomes that can be used to teach your Pawns new skill sets, referred to as specializations. These work in tandem with inclinations to give your pawn a personalized and practical build. In this way, you can either teach your companion to become a healer of sorts with the Chirurgeon specialization or hire another pawn with this skill from the Rift.

At the moment, Chirurgeon is among the most sought-after pawn specializations alongside Woodland Wordsmith. Fortunately, you have options when it comes to recruiting pawns with these talents.

How to Get the Chirurgeon Specialization in Dragon’s Dogma 2

As mentioned, you can teach your pawn the Chirurgeon specialization with the Chirurgeon’s Tome in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The tome is sold by Flora in Vernworth’s Merchant Quarter after you’ve completed the Medicament Predicament quest.

Once equipped with this skill, able companions will use curatives from their own inventory to heal themselves and other party members. You’ll just need to make sure your healer pawn has everything they need to keep your party in good health.

If you haven’t reached this point in the game, however, you can also hire a pawn with the Chirurgeon specialization. You can look for allies created by other players in the Rift or recruit the pawns you meet on your travels. Depending on the pawn, some will cost you Rift Crystals to hire while others will lend their aid free of charge.
