How to Create an Elf in Dragon’s Dogma 2

An Archer draws his bow in Dragon's Dogma 2

Since the drop of the character creation demo for Dragon’s Dogma 2, many players have been looking to create Elf characters. Here’s what you need to know before you settle on a design.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has received a huge amount of praise for its extensive character creation feature, which has been used to build just about every popular TV show or movie character you can think of. Fans got a taste of this tool ahead of launch, experimenting with a variety of designs for their Arisen and Pawn companions. You can even import your premade characters to the full game now if you’d like to use them on your playthrough. However, many have been looking to start the game with Elf characters, and there’s one major issue standing in the way. Let’s break down how to create an Elf in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Deluxe Edition – Xbox Series X|S [Digital Code]
  • The Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the add-on “”A Boon for Adventurers – New Journey Pack””.
  • Dragon’s Dogma is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG series that challenges the players to choose their own experience – from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more. Now, in this long-awaited sequel, the deep, explorable fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 awaits.
  • On your journey, you’ll be joined by Pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure.
  • All of these elements are elevated further through physics technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and the latest in graphics, to create a truly immersive fantasy world in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

How to Make an Elf Character in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Technically, you can’t actually create an Arisen or Pawn of the Elf race in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The game’s character creation feature includes just two races: Human and Beastren. However, you can customize your character’s appearance to incorporate typical Elvish features, like pointed ears and long hair. Both physical features are options within the character creator, so you can add these traits and tweak the rest to work out a build you’re happy with.

Apart from your character’s appearance, you can take your vision one step further by choosing a fitting vocation for your Arisen, such as a standard Archer or Magick Archer later on. If you’re designing a Pawn, however, you can also teach them the Woodland Wordsmith specialization, which allows them to translate the Elvish language. In this way, you can effectively create characters with the makings of an Elf, though they’ll lack the status on paper.

Many players were hoping to see Elves made playable with the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2, as these characters are usually adept with magic and other long-range skills. That being said, there remains a pretty high demand for Elf character build inspiration, especially those that resemble TV and movie characters. For now, though, all you can do is work with the current creation feature to design a half-elf of sorts.

Perhaps we’ll see more races added to the game if DLC rumors pan out in the future. For more on Dragon’s Dogma 2 in the meantime, check out these guides from our team:
