While Pawn Inclinations serve as the basis for your companion’s personality and primary behaviors in the game, Pawn Specializations add some nuance by allowing them to perform specific actions. What Do Pawn Specializations Do in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Pawn Specializations are a brand-new addition in Dragon’s Dogma 2. In essence, these are skills that allows your Pawn and others to perform a variety of tasks and actions on their own. These are distinct from Pawn Inclinations in that they are learned via tomes on your playthrough. In this way, you can teach your Main Pawn unique skills or recruit specialized Support Pawns to fill in the gaps.

How to Get Pawn Tomes in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Pawn Tomes are found on your travels in Dragon’s Dogma 2. You can also earn tomes as rewards for completing quests, so you’ll want to devote some time to helping those in need when you can. It may take some time to score a specific tome you’re looking for, but you’ll find that some are certainly more helpful than others and you’ll want to get them ASAP. It’s generally agreed upon that the Woodland Wordsmith and Chirurgeon Specializations are among the best to have.

How Many Specializations Can a Pawn Have in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, Pawns can only have one Specialization at a time. While this is likely a bummer to those in search of highly skilled companions, you can can make up for the fact by hiring several Support Pawns at once through the Rift. There, you’ll have your pick of the lot, including characters made by other players as well as those created by celebrities and influencers.
