The Wrathful Invoker, or Wrathful Malignant Invoker, is an exceptionally rare and useful item in Diablo 4. Generally, Invokers can be used to conjure Elite Malignant monsters at designated Outgrowths in Malignant Tunnels. Depending on which type is used, these enemies have a chance of dropping various kinds of Malignant Hearts. Needless to say, this is a great incentive to work towards obtaining each type of Invoker, though you may have some trouble getting your hands on the elusive Wrathful Malignant. Here’s what you’ll need to to do obtain the rarest of these items.
How to Obtain the Wrathful Invoker in Diablo 4
There’s no surefire way to get the Wrathful Invoker in Diablo 4, but you do have a chance to obtain the item by crafting an Uncertain Invoker at Cormand’s Workbench. Just bear in mind that you’ll need to beat the odds to secure this rare pull. In the crafting process, there’s a possibility you’ll instead be left with one of three other Invokers, including the common Devious, Brutal, and Vicious varieties.
However, your odds do seem to get better once you reach World Tier Two and beyond. Because of this, we would recommend attempting this process on higher World Tiers to maximize the probability of pulling the desired Invoker. This will take some time and effort, but it will save you loads of materials in the long run.
How to Craft the Wrathful Invoker in Diablo 4
To craft yourself a Wrathful Invoker in Diablo 4, you’ll need to rely on the roundabout process of first putting together an Uncertain Invoker — then cross your fingers you’ll pull the desired item at random. You can do this at Cormond’s Workbench using the following materials.
- 1,000 Gold
- 40 Brutal Malignant Ichor
- 40 Devious Malignant Ichor
- 40 Vicious Malignant Ichor
The best way to pocket each type of Ichor is to take out as many Malignant enemies of the corresponding type as possible. However, you might also have some luck picking them up as drops from enemies of all types. Apart from these methods, Ichor can also be salvaged from Malignant Hearts. Of course, you’ll need to use materials of the same type. This means Devious Malignant Hearts will net you Devious Malignant Ichor and so on. Just bear in mind that the quantities obtained may vary.
When Should You Use the Wrathful Invoker in Diablo 4?
We recommend waiting to use your Wrathful Invoker in Diablo 4. This is because Elite Malignant monsters will yield better Malignant Heart drops as your level increases. The higher your level, the greater the drop.
Once you’ve decided to use the item, you’ll need to reach the end of a Malignant Tunnel. You’ll always be able to find Malignant Outgrowths in these locations, as well as one of another type. As such, you can only use Invokers of the same type at these Outgrowths. This means you can’t use a Brutal Invoker at a Wrathful Outgrowth, for example.
Using your Invoker in this area will summon an Elite Malignant enemy, so you should come prepared to best your opponent if you’re hoping to score Malignant Hearts in the process.
