CS2 – What is Trust Factor and how to improve it?
Valve uses several methods to determine balanced, enjoyable, and fair gameplay on Steam. This is especially true for CS2 where many factors are involved in matchmaking. Your rank and Prime Status play a major part in this, but there is also a hidden measurement. This is the Trust Factor, and the lower your Trust Factor is, the chances are that you will be matched with players who are on a similar level as you. Read on to find out who to check Trust Factor in CS2 and how you can improve it.
How do you check your CS2 Trust Factor?
Currently, there is no way to check your Trust Factor in CS2 directly. But there is a way to find out your approximate level on the Trust Factor scale. You will need a couple of friends and you all need to have Prime Status in CS2. Create a private game and invite your friends. Suppose someone in your lobby has a low Trust Factor. Everyone except a player with a low Trust Factor will receive one of these two messages.
- Your matchmaking experience may be slightly impacted because Trust Factor of (player) is lower than yours.
- Your matchmaking experience will be significantly affected because Trust Factor of (player) is substantially lower than yours.
How do you improve your Trust Factor?
Because there is no official information on how Trust Factor actually works, there is no easy answer to this. However, there are some things you can do to improve your overall Trust Factor in CS2 and Steam in general. A good start is to be a positive member of the CS2 Steam community. Playing CS2 or other Steam games and taking part in Steam discussions will signal that you are an active member of the community.
Be on your best behavior in-game, especially in Prime and Competitive Matchmaking. Getting frequently reported will negatively impact your Trust Factor. The System does not care if you actually did what others reported you for, just that you got reported. So try not to abuse voice/text communications, and do not shoot your teammates. Making your Profile on Steam public will also help with reports. When most players get suspiciously killed, they instinctively go and check their killer’s profile. If that profile is Private they will most likely report the player.
