Counter-Strike 2 has been released on Steam as the direct sequel to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. That makes CS2 the latest game in the long legacy of Valve’s team shooter franchise. Incidentally, that means that there is scarce information on how to download and install the game. Doubly so if you don’t know where to look. Fortunately, it’s not too difficult or complicated to find and download CS2. There’s only a slight inconvenience in that the game is only available through Steam. Counter-Strike 2: How to Download and Play CS2
CS2 is only available on Steam, which means that you will have to download it through their launcher. If you don’t already have it, you will need to download and install Steam first, as well as make a Steam account. Besides that, you only have to make sure that your PC can handle the team FPS.
After that, you can visit the Steam Store and add Counter-Strike 2 to your Steam library. With that done, press the Install button to download and install the game. When that completes, the game will be ready and you can press the Play button to join the action.
If you already have a Steam account and CS:GO in your library, then it’s all much simpler. Your CS:GO entry will have an Update option instead of Play. Pressing it will download and update your game to CS2, and you’ll be set to play once that’s done.
What is the Price of CS2?
If you’re not feeling confident about visiting the Steam Store and having to spend money, don’t worry. Counter-Strike 2 is free to play in its basic form. However, there is a Prime Status Upgrade that costs $15 if you choose to opt for a more premium experience.
