While Silver Kelp is not easily found, there are a few different ways you can go about getting this item in Coral Island. Depending on the progress you’ve made in the game, consider the following methods:

  • Dive
  • Peruse the beach
  • Purchase from the Laboratory

Diving

Unfortunately, diving is not accessible from the start of your Coral Island playthrough, meaning you’ll need to make a dent in the story to dive for Silver Kelp. This activity is unlocked following completion of the Into the Ocean quest, which is initiated on your eighth day in Starlet Town.

Once available, you can head down to the diving docks at the southern edge of the island. Underwater, you’ll need to head southeast from the diving point and follow a set of stairs. This will lead you about 20 meters below the water’s surface, where Silver Kelp is known to spawn. From here, you can harvest it with your scythe, pocketing between 1-3 items at once.

Searching the Beach

Sometimes, you can find Silver Kelp by digging on the beach. This method will require a bit of luck, but it’s a solid option if you haven’t yet completed the Into the Ocean quest. What’s more, your chances will increase if there’s a clover sprouting in the area. Dig up this lucky plant with your hoe for a shot at obtaining this rare species of kelp.

You’ll find that clovers tend to spawn along the path that leads to the Abandoned Villa, located in the southeast. This is a great area to search for Silver Kelp, as clovers are guaranteed to respawn each week.

Purchasing from the Laboratory

If you’ve exhausted your options and still can’t seem to find Silver Kelp, no worries. You’ll always have the option to buy some from the Laboratory in town. Although, you’ll certainly pay for the convenience of this service. Just one Silver Kelp will cost you a whopping 250 Coins, which is a hefty sum of money in the early game. That said, this is a reliable option for those with a solid savings balance.
