Is there Aim Assist in The Finals?

Embark Studios released The Finals during a Games Award 2023. The Finals offers players a promise of fast, high-action-packed gameplay on maps with destructible environments. Along with this, there are three classes that you can choose from and unique gameplay modes. Furthermore, there are specific weapons and gadgets for every class. But does The Finals use the Aim Assist feature in the game?

One of the great debates among fans of the FPS genre is the use of Aim Assist in games. Obviously on one side of the argument are people who think that Aim Assist ruins experience in the game. On the other hand, others think that it is a useful tool for new players to get accustomed to the game mechanics. With that in mind let’s have a look and find out if Aim Assist is used in The Finals.

Does The Finals have Aim Assist?

Yes, The Finals has an Aim Assist mechanic. This is mainly due to The Finals being a cross-platform title. Developers felt this feature could level the playing field between the controller and mouse and keyboard users. The aim assistance mechanic is commonly criticized because it makes aiming easier for the players. Meaning that you will not need to be 100% accurate to shoot down your opponents.

On the other hand, the game uses fairly low Aim Assist and it works only on certain ranges. This means that you will need some skill to land shots, and won’t be able to accurately shoot your opponents from the other side of the map.

How to use Aim Assist in The Finals

The Finals comes with Aim Assist automatically turned on. This option does nothing for PC users but helps players who use a controller. If you want to switch this off or later turn it back on, simply follow the steps below:

  • Launch The Finals and open Settings.
  • In the Settings, select the Controller tab.
  • Controller Aim Assist is located at the bottom of the Controller menu. You can change the option to On or Off there.
