Fast racing on the wii was fun. This one looks to continue that fun and sense of speed. Can't wait to play it.

Was hoping for 1080p on this one, though this game looks fantastic regardless.

This game pushes textures to the limit. I will be surprised if it can stay at a constant 60fps.

robparko3497d ago

Nah, I have confidence Shin'en will hit 60fps, though I was also expecting 1080p.

Textures don't look very demanding but it's still a really pretty game.

R00bot3497d ago

In a Tweet they said it ran pretty smooth 60fps with occasional framerate dips that they were still ironing out. Sounds like it'll be butter smooth 60fps by launch.

"Textures don't look very demanding but it's still a really pretty game."

Textures aren't the major factor. It's the amount of Dynamic/Static lights. Then you have how shaders make use of these lights. Then on top of that Shaders in general are the most GPU intensive job there is.

Fast RMX Review

The Fast series is somewhat of a spiritual successor to F-Zero, a Nintendo franchise that has been long forgotten by Nintendo itself. If Nintendo won't develop any more games in the series, at least Shin'en is trying...but have their efforts ended up being worth it? Let's dig in.

Isn't that the point? For the current systems to be better than last gen?

_-EDMIX-_2599d ago

The fact that this is even news is actually quite scary.

Smh.

This is a big deal to them

InKnight7s2599d ago (Edited 2599d ago )

Ooooooh shit I cant beleive it!!! Much faster than last gen console while it still hold same 10 years old graphics? Wii U pro

meka26112599d ago

I would hope it would load faster, the switch uses cartridges lol.

NotoriousWhiz2598d ago

The titles compared here are digital only.

jaredite832598d ago

Since it is digital only it shows that switch is just faster overall. The game is not 10 years old graphics as some retard suggests, it is a 2015 game and the switch version has double the resolution, better post processing effects and seems like if anti aliasing is too with other improvements. Also frame rate is better. So it is significant improvement for a game that is a port.

FAST Racing Neo Review - TeamVVV

VVV: "It's a shame FAST Racing Neo isn’t available to a wider audience because PS4 and Xbox One owners are missing out on one of the most intense futuristic racers released in years. Its old-school structure and punishing difficulty won’t appeal to everyone, and it lacks the production values and iconic status of rival games that inspired it, but FAST Racing Neo is a challenging, adrenaline-filled futuristic racing game that successfully fills the void of WipEout and F-Zero with enough unique mechanics to set it apart, all for a temptingly cheap asking price. Clearly, Nintendo needs to hand over the F-Zero license to Shin’en."

Seems a bit weird reviewing the wii u version of this 2 days before the latest switch version is released. Nevertheless it sounds like a good game and it was a good review.
