Aisha Tyler Tells Us The Real Problem With Gaming And Diversity

The lack of women isn't unique to the gaming industry; it happens in other areas of tech, like at Google. It's indicative of a larger problem. Game creators are beginning to respond to the realization that more women are gaming in traditionally male settings and on traditionally male platforms, Tyler says. "It's slow, for sure, but it's definitely happening." Tyler also points to The Walking Dead, the popular game based off the television and comic book franchise of the same name. It featured a black male lead and a secondary lead that was also black. Like Hollywood, the video game industry will follow the money. "Gamers have to DEMAND change," Tyler says on her Facebook page, "both with their voices and their pocketbooks."

Same with the diversity when it comes to blacks and whites in the Gaming Industry . .

Black's Love Buy And Play Games as much as whites, blacks visit and comment on N4G and other sites just as much as whites

But their are almost Zero black personalities in the game industry , in front of cameras on major gaming sites. Or as Protagonists or Even Antagonist in video games period . .

Its crazy when you think about it

These are topics I talk about all the time on various websites and forums, and normally there's is an attempt to shout me out of the conversation by angry caucasians, or excuses being made by people of color. Either that or my account was banned just because I had the nerve to post the topic in the first place. ( N4G ~twice~ )

Much like what Ms. Tyler stated we should vote with our money. (I do)

Which makes up a large percentage of the revenue spent on gaming, and what I mean by vote with our money is if there is a valid news report stating that a game disrespect, belittles, or excludes a person of color that has a setting where they could or should be in.

Then don't buy the game, and vote with your money!

Examples:

Gears of War Judgment (Cole should have been the lead)

Remember Me (Character not contemporary)

Odd World series (Makes light slavery)

Crazy Taxi (Black cab fares spoke in extremely stereotypical accents)

Those are the examples I can think of of hand, but with research more can be given without a doubt.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
