If you have a Nintendo device, you probably know a little about Club Nintendo. For diehard fans it has been an excellent way to grab exclusive items available absolutely nowhere else. This year they've decided to go with something simpler - and have damaged the service in the process.
It's pretty easy, . Club Nintendo was pretty much the best. You'd pop open that new game case, and other than the new game smell, you'd get a cool little Club Nintendo insert to redeem for points.
My Nintendo may soon introduce one of the best things about Club Nintendo
Finally a step in the correct direction with this program. I still think that it was developed mainly with the Switch in mind, so when that releases it'll get a major update.
I hope they get rid of the time limit on coins. I just logged on to find that over 500 silver coins had expired. Stupid.
Despite some hype upon launch, Club Nintendo has instead proven to be quite the let-down and gamers are letting Nintendo know they aren't happy.
It's ridiculous. I feel like they started it without a plan in mind for where it's going or... what the point of it even is.
Getting a sweet Mario cap with picking up a treasure trove of DS games was so awesome. Nintendo had a good thing going but the last couple of years have been left wanting.
The author made a good point. Perhaps the NX and a renewed focus on connecting with gamers might rekindle the magic.
While I am not upset that we are getting free games, I do agree with the author in that there is nothing special about reaching Gold or Platinum status this year. Anyone off the street could pay and have the same things that we "earned" by being loyal members. The posters, CDs, statues, etc were a nice little way of being exclusive. Here's hoping they get enough grief from all of us that they go back to the way it was next year.
That being said, I got Dr. Luigi and I am looking forward to playing it.
Its a free program...FREE!
How people complain about getting free games is beyond stupid.
You usually get Nintendo specific physical items you can't get anywhere else. For example for 650 nintendo japan points you can get a stuffed yoshi. Back when it was awesome I had platinum and got a Mario hat that I can wear and I still have it! Now it's digital games that anyone can buy....to me this says nintendo got cheap and don't care for its members staying loyal.
This makes me not to try to be a gold or platinum member next year.
I got nes remix 15 dollar value and with the coins I got getting plat got super mario world, mario party 2, mario kart 64 over 40 dollars free and got pikmin 3 free with kart 8 thats over 100 dollars. club nintendos awesome.
The US Nintendo Club had much more better stuff then the rest of us.
