DayZ Standalone hires new support lead to fix the issues faster.

To fix the problems with the game at a faster rate, company has hired a new support lead.

I've seen H1Z1 stream and they don't have to be scared, they already surpassed what they where aiming for and it's about 2 years from actual release.

Suddenly they really need to get the game fixed at a much faster rate and get off Early Alpha as fast as possible. A dose of H1Z1 can do wonders to a game.

Maybe it has something to do with the next gen console release sooner they fix it on pc they can start to concentrate on xb1/ps4,we all know money can do wonders for getting things sorted quicker.

Pretty sure DayZ is in trouble. H1Z1 has vehicles and the zombies don't run through walls so it's already a bit better.

Yeah it does. I was happy to hear that the combat wouldn't be as fast and arcade like as it was in the stream. I can't wait to see more of H1Z1, and as happy as I was to hear that DayZ could very well come to consoles, seeing H1Z1 killed my interest for DayZ.

I'm excited for H1Z1 but I just hope they don't casualize it when compared to DayZ. I've played Rust a little but I got bored pretty quick. The PvP just isn't as fun when you can just quickly go back to your house and get re-quipped

I hope H1Z1 is more like DayZ than Rust

@Timesplitter - As a console guy I'm just going by vids I've seen of both. I definitely want H1Z1 to be as far from casual as possible.

I should have said my interest for DayZ was lowered a bit instead of killed, because as a zombie nerd I'll probably end up checking out both games if possible.

Plus dayz is BAAAD, it's just too much walking everywhere. They need to make it so that their are more cars around

DayZ is fun because it's a survival game. It's fun because if you die, you lose 8 hours of your life. Makes everything more exciting.

I hope H1Z1 is a "hiking simulator" too because I love that shit and so do milions of other people. The survival aspect of the game is lost without this.

Dont get me wrong, I too, for some reason love a good hiking simulator. It simply irks me that they've frittered away so much of their precious time on introducing pointless and inane shit instead of fixing the core issues, and IMO the serious core issues should take priority. They dont seem to grasp the very simple concept that they simply do not have this much time to piss around before people lose interest and pick up something else. The apparent long lasting appeal of the "mod" dayz does not apply with this one as there are far too many other survival games now, and better ones I might add, to play.
They can afford to hire MORE of the right people, but they havent and probably wont. I'll bet they have hired ONE new lead to mentor the ONE other person they had who didnt know what the hell they were doing. Everyone else on the team are probably artists arguing on what colour hipster bag to make next.

H1Z1 seems to have a great and solid foundation to build upon and I do hope its a hiking simulator too, not to mention there already seems to be much more to do than in DayZ.

It's a pity that the DayZ crew have been so limited resource wise & also quite telling that Rocket has shot off because he is not the best guy to finish the project (in his words). I am looking forward to DayZ being complete. But, what a pizz around the whole DayZ scenario has been. Really amateurish in essence. Total cowboy material. You have a great project, with a whole lot of people willing to pitch in & quite literally you piss all this energy & talent away because the lead guy has realised that he has gimped it all along. Hence, he has left. Should have went to a managerial course IMO.

I can't believe H1Z1 has only been in development since January... thats the time it takes the incompetent DayZ devs to make a single patch.. if even. I can't even remember the last time I've seen an update to that game. I really regret giving my hard earned money to them but I should have known given the delays and empty promises by now.

Some interesting notes on DayZ Standalone:

-Development hell. 12 month delay from the time it was supposed to be released.
-Released with even less features than the mod. Buggy as shit and unpolished. Not what was promised given the delay. More promises made.
-Still on the crappy arma2 engine.
-Modders ported a version of DayZ onto arma3 engine within a week of arma3's release. LOL.
-Standalone will require another 12 months to get out of pre-alpha.
-Patches to the game pretty much non-existent at the moment and wondering how its going to even achieve beta at this pace? Maybe two more years. Maybe.
-A lot of people are tired of waiting and have gone back to the mod.
-Dean Hall abandoning the project at the end of year. He has his millions now and off to create his own studio.

Seriously is there anything positive going for DayZ?

Yes there is one I guess..
