Rumor: Nintendo revealing Zelda: Majora's Mask remake for 3DS this Friday

A rumor is going around the web that Nintendo of America tweeted a message that teased a reveal of a 3DS remake of the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask earlier today. The issue is that Nintendo of America deleted the tweet. It still isn't clear if the image of the tweet is fake, or if Nintendo of America really did tweet something before they should have.

Matey, n64 and GameCube were the best of their time. I loved the old Nintendo mentality of bringing all sort of games with power and tech that pushed boundaries. Ps1 and ps2 had major advantages because of releasing 2.5years and a year before other systems.Golden eye 007 and perfect dark were like the best shooters until this generation so you're talking about shooters that were on top for two gens. Waverace on n64 and GameCube had amazing graphics with water tech above bioshock. The star war games on n64 and GameCube I considered the best in the series especially rogue squadron on GameCube.

Nintendo could have continued the trend of releasing proper built consoles that relied on power and innovative games not worst control scheme that adds nothing to gameplay but hinders it. I can see the wii u pad as a distraction and not a plus because I can hot-keys by pressing the screen instead of the d-pad

After the massive success of the wii Nintendo could have made a proper system but they chose not to because of the precedent set by Wii and fans buying a lot of games. I don't make excusesvfor bad decisions and you should give credit where its due. I can't praise a company I've supported and hailed constantly as being great in the past as being great now when they are doing the opposite of what I thought made them great.

I see Sony as the best this gen because they brought the games. They brought the most exclusive and trend setting games this gen where the quality was off the charts and above a lot of others. I can excuse the ds but not the 3ds. Look at the actual devices that these companies releasing with the games, features and quality. I'm a consumer where the companies should entice and not the other way around.

Nintendo was once great but not anymore

The only surprise in this would be that they had expressed a desire to make an original 3ds Zelda before any more remakes hit the system in the past.

I want this to be true :')

How Many More Victims, Like Garry's Mod, Will Nintendo's Hurtful Crusade Create?

Hanzala from eXputer: "As Nintendo takes out 20 years' worth of stuff from Garry's Mod, I watch in shock, thinking why it continues to hurt and discourage its fans."

RiseNShine9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

The irony that some of the most disgusting business practices come from companies like Disney or Nintendo, i can't even begin to understand what terrible damage was Garrys Mod making to Nintendo bottom line, imho they're getting pretty nervous about where they're heading in the future, handhelds are no longer something exclusive to Nintendo, from Steam Deck to many others, now you can play the latest games and pay a fraction of the price on Steam sales, so it's up to their exclusives, which just on their own would make hard to justify purchasing a closed overpriced hardware with outrageous price policies (Super Mario Odyssey is still 60 euro 6 years later!), and as a home console they're always underperforming compared to Sony or Xbox.

gold_drake9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

i cam guarantee you, that their exclusives alone is what drives switch sales. they sell in the 10s of millions of copies.

nintendo created their franchises to be sort of nostalgia driven, exclusive only on nintendo.

people will always buy the pkmn games as they always bring in new younger fans amd is family friendly

mario kart, the same thing, mario games in general.

zelda games are system sellers. animal crossing for the casual gamers.

nintendo doesnt need third vame devs essentially. they made sure with the switch and the limitations that they looked more to pc ps and xbox.

its sad, but nintendo is more than fine with what they're doing. they positioned themselves to appeal to the more casual gamers.

but to your point, im not sure why they're doing this rly.

Look at how they handled Nintendo games being streamed or uploaded on YouTube in the past. They killed Yuzu and Citra even when they had nothing to do with ToTK being leaked, not to mention it was basically unplayable on emulation the week it was leaked. Smash Bros tournament, that was fairly recent. They shut down their online services without any care for purchases made. I bought a switch after skipping their last 2 consoles and handhelds but I don't plan on buying anything Nintendo in the future. They take things to the extremes, they legitimately hate their fans. They're honestly right up there with the likes of Acti, EA, and Ubi, only difference is that they disguise themselves as being family friendly all the while being shady.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.
