Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Remaster Shows How Far We’ve Come With The PS4 Pro

It has been quite a while since Sony’s legendary console, the PlayStation 2, was killed off. Sony’s latest console, the PlayStation 4 has accounted for a tremendous amount of success as well for this generation.

I was going to buy this game until I bought Stormblood. That's just to much Final Fantasy for me.

Enjoy. one of my favorite entries. My only real gripe being that I felt they chose the wrong lead. Asche or Basch would have fit much better. Of course Basch was meant to be the lead, b because of how vagrant story performed, they went with Vaan. But you'll probably see what I mean when you play it.

They were both meant to be the "main" character. Thin was it was poorly told and presented, with the street kid acting as the player though he otherwise had little involvement with the overarching story.

That it now looks better with only a few of its major issues addressed mean even less.

please explain the downvotes for shits and giggles,..This is how it looks like on PCSX2 (can run like shit though),.. just saying PlayStation games are so good that you want to play them 20 years later even,.. This game is awesome,.. but outside some texture work,.. I really dont see the difference,.. It is how game Runs on a good PC,.. aybe lighting is a bit better,.. but it is what it was. ,.. Though I saw some footage that I thought was CgI,... so yes this will look awesome.

Speaking solely to the visuals, it has higher quality character models, high quality textures, modern lighting techniques, depth of field, and ambient occlusion alongside the increase to resolution.

And assuming you've only played the North American version, this version has a ton of new non-visual improvements/tweaks as well: the new Zodiac Job System, ability to equip 2 jobs, new weapons/armor/items/enemies/ga mbits, new game plus modes, trial mode, soundtrack recorded with an orchestra, 8 new tracks by original composer, improved lighting, 7.1 surround, HQ sound/voice recordings, ability to swap between English/Japanese voice acting, 2/4 times speed up modes, redone loot system, more chests, control Espers/Guests, removed damage cap, autosave, balance tweaks...

I'm curious to see how it all comes together and how it might change my experience. FF XII is my favorite, and having played the original many times for hundreds of hours I'm looking forward to a different experience this time around.
