Space Pirates Will Have To Go Without Mass Effect Andromeda Patch 1.05 And Its Face-Fixing Ways

From GameWatcher: "Having trouble updating Mass Effect: Andromeda to the latest update? Hold off complaining on forums or Twitter, because there's a good chance you'll get called out for piracy. Yar!

Bioware's much anticipated sci-fi sequel released in funny old state. Not exactly broken or unplayable, but with a slew of sloppy animations and seemingly unfinished model details to cause a multitude of creepy or cringe-worthy encounters with its varied cast."

>release a buggy mess game
>get criticized
>blames gamers, Piracy, and GamerGate
>"If you criticize us you are ebul Space Pirate and MRA women-hater"
Yeah. Typical EA management.

GameCrateEd2571d ago

When did they blame gamers or piracy? All I've seen is BioWare taking responsibility for the state of the game and releasing updates, like this one, which improve it.

Well, let me see..

I thought everyone learned from how they reacted to SWTOR's failure and blamed customers for it. Or maybe you're living in a different timeline.
>which improve it
You can improve the broken animations but you can't fix the broken system, broken mechanics, broken stories and lores, and broken management plan of company.

GameCrateEd2571d ago

The Polygon story is about BioWare addressing incorrect information that was circulating about who worked on the game. If you think that's "blaming GamerGate" that's...an interesting perspective.

And you said they are "blaming piracy" for the game being a buggy mess. This article isn't about that at all. It's about pirates not getting a game update, which is standard practice.

Neo-Delta2571d ago

You should make a game jjj. You just seem to know everything about what's broken. Just do the opposite of that and you'll be set. It's as simple as that right?

2pacalypsenow2571d ago

So they should release updates for people who stole their game?? Fuck pirates

jjj03092571d ago

They should have release a game that is not broken at first, my friend.
>"What? Do you expect games to be perfect at release? You entitled bigot!"
>"Well, they've updated a game for a bit and fixed things that shouldn't be there in first place, so from now on everyone who complaining on forums or Twitter are pirates. So, yeah, you are dirty filthy pirates for making valid criticism on the game."
Video game journalism 101: Blame pirates. If the game is bad, blame pirates. If the game is buggy, blame pirates. If the game commercially fails, blame pirates. If the game gets valid criticism, blame pirates.

mixelon2571d ago

Jjj: Thing is, they didn't blame pirates at all. Where are you getting this bs?

It makes sense they aren't supporting pirate copies. Screw piracy anyway.

crou2571d ago

I remember when sharing was a thing...

Also, updates are released to everyone - not just people who pirated their game.

I think the company deserves some pirating when they blatantly release a game in a beta state to save on test spending.

I think the company needs some people to put them in their place when they hype a game up endlessly when they know players will have a stressful time playing their game.

Don't get me started on preorders oh my god. You should try looking at issues from multiple perspectives. Helps from blindly cheering while the pastors herd you from the back.

Pirating helps the industry in many ways (of course at a price) but people who weren't able to spend that money on the game anyway aren't lost/potential customers. Could even help with positive word of mouth.

? did you even read the article? When did they blame piracy for those issues? Electronic Arts Ubisoft and many other companies have been actually trolling people who pirate their games for years.

I remember that they would even go as far as to alter specific programs in the game to make it function strangely to catch people were playing pirated versions.

For example if you own a pirated version of Mirror's Edge faith will run and start to walk just before she gets towards the ledge it will even slow her down 😂😂😂 28514;

If you get a pirated copy of the Sims even have the entire screen pixelated and people openly were calling Electronic Arts about this only to realize that they were outing themselves of having pirated versions

Soooooo I'm not entirely sure why should companies support Pirates.

GameCrateEd2571d ago

Yeah exactly this. There's nothing to the idea that BioWare is "blaming pirates" for the problems with Mass Effect.

You clearly didn't read either of the articles you referenced because neither one of them were EA or Bioware blaming pirates, fans, or Gamergate. Having said that I have to wonder what the hell you're talking about.

freshslicepizza2571d ago

funny howe pirates can at will change the context on command to validate anything. pirates are not to blame for the buggy mess, its just that they have secured the game again with a new update. how difficult is it for you to comprehend that?

ARRRRGHHH! Me player's eyes be bigger than cannonballs. What be the problem, EA?

RommyReigns2571d ago

Face-fixing? Hope Bioware don't get Tom Phillips to try and 'fix' faces :D

(anyone unfamiliar with the reference search 'Tom Phillips Face')

Mass Effect Companions, Ranked from Worst to Best

From Xfire: "BioWare's Mass Effect franchise took gamers on a fascinating universal sci-fi journey that will never be forgotten. While fighting against the ever-looming threat of the Reapers was central to Mass Effect's storyline, what made the series so iconic was its vast and diverse cast of characters.

Not only do these companions accompany Commander Shepard as you make your way through hell and back, but, throughout your journey, you also get to learn who these characters were and are and what they think about what it is that you are doing. Some will even fall in love with you, and others will even become your enemy based on your decision."

sourOG1078d ago

When I looked at the list I thought they were saying Garrus was the worst lol. And tali being so far down the list was fighting words for me. But the numbered list is just the order they are shown so you are forgiven.

CYALTR1077d ago

I think they listed them from worst to best. Also keep in mind that this includes Andromeda characters that aren't part of the remastered trilogy. Interesting refresh on the characters though.

sourOG1077d ago

They did but I didn’t realize it until I started reading. That’s just the order they are shown.

Knightofelemia1078d ago (Edited 1078d ago )

I couldn't stand Miranda I could never like her as a character and I always skipped Jacob and James. I always liked Grunt, Jack, Legion, Tali, Garrus, Samara, Liara, Wrex, Edi, Zaeed, Kasumi I always use these characters. Using Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man just fits the character like using Keith David as Admiral Anderson was another good choice always feels like Goliath from Gargoyles is yelling at you which I like.

Rebel_Scum1077d ago

Kinda weird having a question mark at the end of that sentence?

Soy1077d ago

Garrus is best space bro.

Mass Effect: Andromeda in 2021

Zahi AR. from Link Cable Gaming writes “Welcome back Link Cable Gaming fans, with me in andromeda. Specifically, Mass Effect: Andromeda in 2021. With the recent announcement of Anthem shutting down its future plans, I wanted to look at another recent BioWare game. My switch to a PlayStation 5 destroyed my save file right while I was at the end. So, I decided to do a fresh start on the new console to see just how well (or not) it’s been since launch. How has the new generation of hardware treated the game that fell from grace? Should you play Mass Effect: Andromeda in 2021? Let’s find out.”

Such a good game! It got a 4K X1X upgrade and it looks fantastic! Also like the story! Was playing it again before Series X dropped. Going to download it for the Series X, as soon as I have more room on my HD. Playing too many other games right now.

Instant resume is AMAZING! I can Switch between 5 games in seconds. Like 10 to 15 at the most! No closing a game and opening another one! Thank you Microsoft!

giovonni1143d ago

It’s was decent to me. I didn’t feel the magic I felt when I played two or even three. I don’t know. It was repetitive, and the worlds felt bland.

jeromeface1143d ago

There's a reason it reviewed so poorly in the first place... these reasons among others.

anast1143d ago

I had a lot of fun with this game, but I haven't played 2 or 3 yet.

giovonni1143d ago

2 was wonderful, three was just as good as two the ending though 🤦🏾‍♂️

Wintersun6161142d ago

I finally gave it a go last autumn and was amazed by how bad a game can be. And believe me my expectations were low. After 10ish hours I just had to give up.

giovonni1142d ago

I powered through it, myself. It was just repetitive, and the Land Rover Exploration wasn’t interesting at all. The story also we mahhhhhhh.
