I hope the gameplay is just as good

@mars
I hated dmc4 because it brought nothing compared to the previous ones. Dmc added a lot to gameplay.. If you decide to hate a game because the main character doesn't fit in isn't very mature reaction.
I'll be happy if they go back to the original design of Dante, but i can't deny they should take the things the reboot did right as well.

Godmars2902853d ago

As good as what, given that most reaction to DMC: DmC's was that it was too simplistic. Was "fixed", made closer to how it originally played, with a remastered version.

UltraNova2853d ago

Godmars, I ve bought the remaster but couldnt convince my self to play past the first 2 hrs...dont know "maybe its me not you..."

naruga2853d ago (Edited 2852d ago )

better do it because DmC was trash in comparison to the classics

MrSwankSinatra2852d ago

"I hated dmc4 because it brought nothing compared to the previous ones. Dmc added a lot to gameplay."

Yeah I don't know what you're smoking, but it must be good. It's very clear that you've never even played DMC4 otherwise you wouldn't be saying something so false. DMC4 added a lot gameplay wise, DmC actually REMOVED gameplay options.

Elda2852d ago

I agree by the the 4th DMC I was bored of the gameplay, the NT version of DmC was like a breath of fresh air,I really enjoyed it!

XisThatKid2852d ago (Edited 2852d ago )

Agreed, I'm going to flat out say I loved the reboot. I'm not really going to compare it because that's nut how my mind and opinions form but even if so I like the game. My only real gripe was it wasn't 60fps I launch. Loved the universe liked the concept and premise, nothing against Dante or Virgil at all
Edit: Looks like in time after it stopped being cool to hate DmC Purple started to have legit opinions about it. It's the BvS of games, cool. Anything to keep people from being sheeple

UltimateMaster2852d ago (Edited 2852d ago )

The game play never changed from the original formula.
Altough it was at it's best in DMC 3&4, DMC 1 has the best story and also had great game play, the original not the remake.

Kombatologist2852d ago

I was one of those who prematurely judged the new Dante in DmC, but I finally bought the Definitive Edition for PS4 earlier this year and had an absolute blast with it. The new Dante wasn't so bad, either. He actually grew on me.

Admittedly, I haven't played all the classic DMC games (yet), but I'm familiar with it enough to understand some of the complaints about DmC. I ended up buying the DMC HD Collection for PS3 because DmC renewed my interest in the franchise, and that's not a bad thing.

just-joe2852d ago

Yeah, you just got to love that game of Simon. Oh a red enemy, better use my red weapon.

Awesome.

This is the real Dante.

Don't forget that Capcom

suli123452853d ago

Sorry but that was Dante from dmc2, the worst Dmc game in my opinion, even worse than the reboot. The real Dante is the dmc1 or dmc4. True story.

WeAreLegion2852d ago

DMC2 was a great game. I hate that people trash it so much.

Eiyuuou2852d ago

Regardless of one's opinion on the game, the outfit rocks.

ApocalypseShadow2852d ago

Basically what I'm saying is I like the older experienced Dante over some developer trying to remake the personality and style that was already good.

His fighting style was already good. Why change it?

If you're going to make something new, tell the story of Sparda going against Mundus. Don't change an already likable character.

KentBenMei2852d ago

No. No.

It was NOT worse than the reboot. I could take a s***, press it into a CD form, and it would be better than DmC.

@MoveFasta He was a kid in DMC3 so doesn't really count. I like the darker older Dante

xMANB3ARP1G2853d ago

fair enough but 4 didnt do it for me i could never stick to 4 but i beat the outher 3 and 3 on all but the hardest difficulty with one of my friends we would allways use the dopple ganger glitch wreck shop on some co-op

Shubhendu_Singh2852d ago

Just an year after DmC-reboot, NinjaTheory clearly said they will work on DMC5 now, and will disregard DmC.

Now I think people forgot that news.

Activemessiah2853d ago

Fanboys of that DMC are gonna take this twitter b*tch once more... I swear it's like a cult of syphilis.

Gardenia2852d ago

I didn't think DMC was bad at all. But the best is still DMC1

2852d ago
suli123452853d ago

Lets act like that reboot never existed. As a hardcore Dmc fan right from Dmc1 on ps2 i think i can safely say the reboot was just so bad!

TheGamingArt2853d ago

As a hardcore fan since Dmc1, I'm questioning you

FFXVI’s Combat Proves It's Time For Another Capcom Remake

With Final Fantasy XVI committing fully to fast-paced action gameplay, it may finally be time for a new remake series of a classic Capcom franchise: Devil May Cry. As the franchise that essentially originated the particular style of 3D action combat that the upcoming Final Fantasy is making heavy use of, Devil May Cry could very well be due for a remake, or even a series of remakes, to address certain flaws and more dated aspects of its classic games, similarly to the popular modern remakes for Capcom's Resident Evil series.

How can combat from one franchise be proof for a subjective opinion on another?

SeTTriP364d ago

Makes no sense to me either

lucian229364d ago

why in the hell would we need a remake of devil may cry when devil may cry 5 was great? We just need devil may cry 6 ; not a remake, enough with the remakes

jambola364d ago

Yeah I mean, no insult to the franchise but it's not like the story or location of the first was so top tier that we need to go back to it

lucian229363d ago

yeah rather progress with story where it is

Pepsi_Man3000364d ago

I'd much prefer we get new games that have such combat. Enough with the remakes. At least move forward if you want more of the same series

Elda364d ago

No remakes. The next installment of DMC would suffice.

CrimsonWing69364d ago

Why not a sequel? Why do we run to "needs a Remake" all the time now. I'd rather have the original and then a brand new entry instead of the original and the original but remade.

It's Time for a New Mainline Devil May Cry Game

With DMC5's four-year anniversary passing and the increased relevance of its genre, now could be the best time for a new Devil May Cry game.

They are working on Dragons Dogma 2

BISHOP-BRASIL395d ago

Never heard about it, but boy do I hope you are right! Dragon's Dogma was great!

Was a very anticlimactic announcement, but it's official!

Gridknac396d ago

I am super surprised that a total remake of the first DMC, in the vein of the latest Resident Evil titles, hasn't been revealed.

MIDGETonSTILTS17396d ago

It was at least a decade between 4 and 5, so keep holding your breath ;)

cbuc1125395d ago (Edited 395d ago )

Exactly...these games don't come out often.

Furesis395d ago

Right, surely there wasn't anything else that was the cause for that...

FallenAngel1984395d ago

DmC released between those titles. Even if it’s its own continuity it still showed Capcom was interested in the series

Capcom is banging out the RE series. I would Love a new Onimusha and Power Stone from Capcom.

thejigisup395d ago

Well sh*t while we're at it let's get a remake of MvC2. Honestly Devil May Cry was one of my favorite games and I really didn't like the tonal shift too much as the series progressed. Now would be a good time to return to DMC 1 and do a soft reboot from there keeping the tone dark. I would also be 100% down for a game based on the story of Sparda.

Fable Co-Creator Says He 'Ripped Off' Devil May Cry to Create the Xbox RPG's World

Fable co-creator Dene Carter turned to Devil May Cry for an idea of scope when developing the 2004 hit action RPG.

CrimsonIdol527d ago

"Look to your peers", "stand on the shoulders of giants", "don't re-invent the wheel". Or in far more blunt down-to-earth British dev terminology: "rip it off" hahaha

Eonjay526d ago

I mean I agree with his sentiment of not reinventing the wheel. Imagine if every physicist, for example, had to derive the equations of relativity from scratch every time they were looking to make a discovery. We would never get anywhere. This isn't the same thing as straight up plagiarism of course.

CrimsonIdol526d ago

Oh yeah, I imagine there would be very few major games developed in the last 20 years that didn't copy things that worked from previous games in terms of structure and design. The blunt language just made me smile. And I guess opens him up to some click-bait titles.
