When the remake of Final Fantasy VII was announced at E3 2015, our minds were blown. The game fans have hounded Square-Enix for years has finally been announced.
After seeing the unforgettable announcement trailer the only question that went through my mind is when will I see more? Square-Enix conveniently left the message " More to come this Winter" at the end of the reveal trailer.
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.

???
Have yet to see anything of it at all.
2020 if we are lucky.
I just don't know, because on the one hand, a good bit of the work is already done - it is a remake after all - but on the other hand, SE are probably going to be really careful making this game. Also, it's not a straight-forward remake, so I'm sure there's an awful lot of work to be done nevertheless.
I just hope they've gone into this with a strong vision for it, because if they haven't, god knows how many times they'll find themselves starting from scratch, and god knows how long it'll be before they release it, and god knows what a mess the final game will be. If they have a solid vision for it, and they know exactly what they want to do and how to do it, then maybe we'll see this game sooner rather than later. Part of me thinks they wouldn't be so silly as to announce that they're going to do it if they didn't have a pretty strong idea of what they wanted to do. Then again, they might be gambling, because after all, their stocks soared when they announced this game. Maybe they're just going to wing it, and announced it merely to boost their financial prospects - now they've got to deliver on what they promised.
Well first we have to get FFXV then FFXV-2 two years later, then FFXV-3 Re-Birth two years after that, so in 7 years we will get FFVII remake (poetic no?), and get update trailer every f-ing E3 till then, fingers crossed.
Does this article forget that the FFVII remake was announced this year, not 2014?
It'd be interesting if this game arrived in 2017, exactly 20 years after the original
