New Nintendo Direct airing on Thursday, will cover upcoming Wii U and 3DS games

Nintendo Direct is making a triumphant return later this week. Today, Nintendo announced that the next broadcast is set for Thursday.

The problem is, Miyamoto's english is pretty damn bad, so he wouldn't do well on a Direct aimed at the western audiences. As far as I know, Kimishima (the new Nintendo president) is pretty fluent in english, so who knows? Maybe he could take the role, especially considering he has a lot of experience working in the U.S.

Don't go in expecting anything.
Especially Zelda.
That way you #1 can't be disappointed if the most-likely-case-scenario of them not talking about Zelda comes to pass, and #2 you can be completely and delightfully shocked if they defy the odds and DO talk about Zelda before E3 of next year.

They didn't talk about Zelda at all at e3 this year, so why can't they talk about it now and why shouldn't they?
They showed it off during the last VGA show. That wasn't e3.

Uh, Nintendo already confermed last month there would be Zelda news in November...... So yeah I expect it!

Well, there are a few reasons for that:

#1 Because this upcoming Direct is going to be covering games coming out up to spring of next year.
Zelda doesn't even have a release date, so unless they announce Zelda U for spring of next year, why would they talk about it here?

#2 The last VGA show was a while ago, back when they expected to be releasing Zelda by the end of this year.
Things have changed since then; expecting it to be at that show because they've talked about it once before is a sure way to get oneself overhyped, then let down so hard that it turns into a repeat of the Federation Force Fiasco from E3 2015. [AKA, the FFF. That's my coin. MINE.XD]

Look, I get that you guys want to be hyped and want to expect big things.
There's nothing wrong with desiring that.

I just don't want to see a repeat of E3, where people went in expecting too much then came out HATING Nintendo because they didn't see exactly what they wanted, and virtually dismissed EVERYTHING ELSE for the sake of hating the bad parts.
What they'll be presenting deserves a fair judgement that isn't over-shadowed by the expectation of Zelda, let alone the disappointment should it not be shown.

I'm just trying to encourage others to make room for that in their minds and hearts, by not expecting Zelda in the first place.
That way you'll be delighted if it shows, and you'll be able to enjoy the rest of what's shown if Zelda does not show up.

My bet's on E3 of next year, honestly.
I mean, it's a big title.
REALLY big.
As large as the Game Awards are, I don't think they're E3 big, and the more games they have to show off at E3, the better off Nintendo will be.
Especially after their last E3 got ruined by the reveal of Federation Force.

I don't want to get too hyped just in case we only get updates on titles we already know about (StarFox Zero, Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, etc.) — Not that I wouldn't mind that; I just hope they actually announce some new stuff and genuinely surprise us.

Either way, happy to see the series finally return! It's gonna take some real getting used to not having Iwata with is signature "Directly to you!" chant and pose, but, the show must go on.

I'm sure those games will be mentioned but I would think the focus would be on the games releasing this year since we are just two weeks away from the Holiday rush.

Nope. Why would Nintendo dedicate a Direct just for 2015 Holiday games?

In the past three years every Direct at the end or beginning of the year announces new games.

Star Fox 0, Pokken Tournament,that Fire Emblem/Shin megami game, Pikmin 4, Zelda U are all 2016 and later plus who knows what else they have in store.

I don't know, I'm not very optimistic for this one...
Probably spending too much time on Mario Tennis / Amiibo Ransack (Animal Crossing)/ and 3ds titles NO PERSON is waiting for (i.e. Metroid Prime Federation crap).

With the NX Nintendo really should think about having a launch line-up of broken games with major bugs. It seems this is what this generation of gamers chase after and praise as the greatest thing ever. Games use to get majorly penalized for being broken, but now they get excellent review scores and GoTY nods. So maybe this is the new Direct format that Nintendo speaks of for 2016 and going forward.

On a serious note, I just want to see a very cool tribute to Iwata. What a great way to start off the new year by having a glorious send off and then using 2016 as the push in a new era for the company looking towards the future.

No Direct for Japan announced yet.. so dont get excited at all yet, if they announce the direct in Japan today then I will believe we might see something new.

Maybe at the end..just before its over, they will flash the NX on on the screen...ever so quickly..1/2 a second...and not offer any details...let people get hyped etc....and then hold off any info till E3 2016
